About a year ago my daughter was looking for tuition aid to continue her education. I requested the grant search cd from Grant University. When I recieved it I found it to be no more than I could get on my own so I cancelled the membership.

Because of some family issues I had not read my VISA statement for a while, I just sent in my payment. When things settled down I discovered that a charge of $30.00 had been made to my account every month.

The name and phone number listed were similar, but a little different, each time it appeared. The amount however is always the same.

I contacted my card company and was told to try contacting each one of these numbers to request they refund the charge to my account(we all know how eager they are to do that). After they refuse to do so I am to recontact Wells Fargo for further action.

On the plus side Wells Fargo offered to send me a new card with a different number to prevent further charges to my account. I of course accepted and hope I can avoid any more theft from these people.

I really don't know what else to call what they do. I was taught from childhood that if someone takes anothers possessions without permission that is theft, stealing. They took my money without my permission, that means they stole from me as far as I am concerned.

Don't let these thieves get away with it. Victims need to join together and make a lot of noise to stop these people from harming anyone else. It is daunting enough to get a child through school. These people feed on the unsuspecting public.  They get away with it because society lets them.
