The Cadle company has filed in our local courts to collect a debt they claim we owe from 17 years ago. My ex-wife has been remarried for ten years and lives in Florida where Cadle Company filed in the Volusia County courts against her. I live in Pennsylvania where they filed in the Indiana County courts against me. Neither of us kept any receipts or records from 17 years ago. The Cadle Company claims we had a $2,000.00 unpaid debt to a bank in 1989 and they are claiming we now owe them over $9,000.00. I have been totally disabled since 1989 and live on a very low fixed income and earlier this month my ex-wife was threatened with a phone call from the Cadle Company threatening to have her wages garnished from her place of employment where she earns less than $9.00 an hour. Neither of us can afford an attorney to fight these people. My ex-wife has requested proof that The Cadle Company is licensed in the collection business and was informed that they do not have to prove anything to her, so now when they call she has a very loud whistle that she blows into the phone before she hangs up.
