HUGE SCAM! I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 660 through techondigital.com (which DOES have all positive reviews somehow - probably another scam...I left negative feedback and it never got posted). The email came from TechonDIGITAL, and the invoice came from The Camera Wiz. Beware of BOTH of these companies!

I ordered the Garmin Nuvi 660 and nothing else, when the salesman called me to "confirm" my order, I was informed that I had ordered the Gray Market version of the Garmin Nuvi 660. Would I like to upgrade to the non-gray market version?

Nowhere on the website did it say anything about this being a Gray Market version. I was told that the unit I purchased would only communicate in Japanese and had a map database from 2004. He wanted an additional $60 for the "new non-graymarket version" At this point I told him that I just wanted to cancel the order and he told me "We can't do that sir without charging you a 20% charge." After haggling w/ the guy and getting upset, I finally agreed to pay an additional $40. (not an additional $42 as charged)

After a short time, I realized that I had been a victim of the "bait & switch" routine, so I emailed to cancel the order. I called the credit card company to let them know and we ended up just closing the credit card account, but too late as The Camera Wiz had already posted the charge (an additional $42.00 more than originally agreed on when the purchase was made on-line). I told the bank to dispute the charge as I thought I had cancelled the item.

After 2 weeks, I received the Garmin. It seemed to be in the original box. (not sealed) and all accessories seemed to be there. I immediately called Garmin to see if this was a refurbed or stolen unit, but Garmin assured me that with the serial number given, it appeared to be new. I decided to keep the unit and undispute the charges. Big mistake! The unit worked just fine except there were many streets that were no longer there or new streets that were not recognized.
I went to upgrade the included 2008 database, but on Garmin's web site, it showed that my only option was to purchase the 2009 data base at $70. I called Garmin technical support to complain, because I did not have this unit long enough yet to do a major database upgrade. Garmin is great! They were nice enough to agree to send me the new 2009 database with no hassles. When I gave them the serial number of my unit, they told me that this unit was registered to myself and another person, meaning that the unit I purchased from "The Camera Wiz" was not new as advertised (we theorized that it was a returned unit).

It's too late to re-dispute the charges because it is just over the 90 days, but I will try anyway. Just stay far away from these ripoff artists, they can not be trusted. The prices look good and the web site looks good but you are setting yourself up for being ripped off big time. Stick with the many reputable dealers.
