The Dish Network/ Dish Outlet ripoff using debit card unauthorized before work completed Lexington Kentucky

we had the dish outlet to install a dish network satellite in dec 2003 when we moved into a new home. we had to give them our credit card # at that time in order for dish network to activate our system. in mar/ april 2004 we asked them back to do a different job installing home speakers.

first of all they would never tell us what the work would cost only assured us it would be a "good deal" since we kind of knew them (neighbors) we didnt worry too much about it. we never saw and estimate or signed anything. once they "thought they were finished" they dropped off the bill for $1300. Of course it was very high for what the normal installation should cost.

We told them the work was not complete because the system kept blowing up our receiver and 2 of the speakers did not work. we also said $1000 was more reasonable and they aggreed. the installer said we could pay $500 then and he would come back and finish the work and we could pay the additional $500. we paid the $500 and agreed. well a month and 1/2 passed and we assumed they were busy and would call anytime.

we came back from out of town to find they had charged the remaining $500 to our debit card. apparently the installer was going on vacation and i assume needed a little extra money. we called him had a few choice words told him it was illegal etc... he said he would work it out. that is not good enough. i will be seeking further action against them. they went back through our old papers and got our debit card from the satellite info and charged our card without even calling us. i am disputing with my bank and will get my money back.
