I met with Wendy of the Golba Group to sign my lease on Sept 1, 2009. I was told that the garage door wasn't electric but it locked. No problem although this wasn't disclosed in the rental information. Once I went to the property the very same day I discovered not only did the door not lock the keys didn't work in the house doors.

I called and waited an hour for a return phone call from Wendy that clearly was never going to come. So I drove back to the office and was told that it was my responsibility to call their maintenance company and file a report. Which I refused to do. I didn't feel it was my responsibility to wait to have a door repaired that anyone could come in on me less than two hours of me signing my lease and giving them $3000.00 of my money. Thus the property was not safe to occupy by a single female.

Sept 2, 2009 I spoke with Wendy and Ashley Reed again and was told that the overhead door company would be calling me back to come out to fix the door and I needed to be there. Ashley in her stupidity informed me that the property was safe the only thing that wasn't secure and safe was the garage door.

I can only assume that she was too stupid to realize that by the garage door being a part of the house if it wasn't secure the house wasn't secure. I never received that call. I also sent them a certified letter dated Sept 2, 2009 giving them five days to return my money.

I still never received a call from anyone. On Sept 9, 2009 after sending an email to every email address that I could find via Google search. Telling them that I wanted out of the lease and wanted my money back.

Ken Golba left me a message stating that while I had not moved into the property if I wanted out of my lease I would lose my first months rent and my deposit. So he would advise me to move into the property and that if we went to court I would lose.

Ken seems to be under the impression that my issue is that the property doesn't have an electric garage door opener. I guess he's too simple minded to understand that if I could pay Sept, Oct, last months rent plus a security deposit as well as earnest money deposit. Surely I could afford to pay to have someone install an electric garage door opener for me.

I called and asked to speak to Ken on Sept 10, 2009 to advise him that as long as I was getting back my Oct 2009 rent and my last months rent for Sept 2010 that I had paid in advance.

I would be elated to allow them to keep Sept 2009 rent as well as the deposit, earnest money and other money I had paid. Just not having to deal with these rude, disrespectful, dishonest, and unprofessional people was worth that much to me. I was told he was in a meeting but I could leave a message in his voice mail.

Instead Reed gets on the phone to once again display her stupidity and rude behavior. She tells me that The Golba Group plans to keep all $3000.00 dollars of my money that I paid them on Sept 1, 2009. For a property that I have not one day stayed in or lived in or moved any of my property in.

These people are the biggest bunch of thieves that I have ever seen in my life. However what they don't realize is I don't go away that easy. I'm from the show me state baby and grandma always said I can show you better than I can tell you. So Golba Group please understand that your threats don't work with me nor do they intimidate me.

Our goal is to resolve this dispute promptly, efficiently and in a way that serves both customer and home owner. It is our deepest regret that a customer felt the need to post this information here. Please do not hesitate to contact a property manager or leasing agent at 480 503 0700 so we can help your needs to be taken care of. There is no need to dispute that Landmark & Golba are owned by the same parent company. Many property management companies have internal private maintenance people to handle their properties. You can always email us using our website at AZHousing.com . It is much easier to file a complaint online than actually come down to our office. Our office hours, email, phone #'s are all listed on our website at AZHousing.com . We are not hiding anything and encourage each person that has a complaint to come down to work with our professional staff.

Ok I just hung up the phone with Ken Golba, in his defense he said that he was unaware of the amount of money that I had paid and he would contact the owners to advise them to give me some of my money back. Therefore, I will believe what he told me until he shows me something different. As I explained to him, I can understand them keeping my first months rent and deposit. However, them keeping the money that I paid for October 2009 rent and last month September 2010 rent I did not understand. I shall keep the faith and pray that Ken will keep his word to me. I did request that he not have Wendy or Ashley Reed call me again.
