Scammed out of over $800. In August 2017 I thought I was buying two all inclusive vacation packages including beachfront, 4 star resorts which I was told could be booked within a 3 year timeframe. Unfortunately I was concerned I was scammed immediately after they charged my credit card before I authorized. I tried hard to get my credit card company to cancel transaction as it hadn’t even been 24 hours. My credit card, US Bank Visa reviewed, denied and I was screwed. The following day I received an email from Claire Magnus, customer service specialist, The Gold Travel, who lied and said if I provided a copy of my credit card and ID "today” she would refund my credit card for the total amount. It was a lie/trick to get my information and finalize the transaction on her end of the sale (and possibly steal my identity).

See email below from Claire: Dear Customer, We have received an inquiry from your bank regarding the purchase with our company. Our financial department will be issuing a refund to your credit card today but in order to do so we request a copy of your credit card, photo identification and a a signed written statement of the amount that was charged to your credit card on the day of purchase. If you follow this refund procedure a refund will be issued before the end of the day!! Claire MAGNUS Customer Service Specialist cid:image001.png@01D2682D.A1BBEB70 thegoldtravel.com Toll Free 1-800-625-7450 FAX: 011 52 998 332 8385 +52 1 998-149-4250 (Whatsapp number) Mon-Fri 12:00-20:30 CST

The Gold Travel’s telephone number and email are no longer active. I tried booking in 2/2018 however they took so long to get back to me to confirm it was too late to book airfare... another scam. Expensive lesson learned!!! Total scam with lie after lie after lie. Claire Magnus also becomes the booking specialist when trying to make reservations. Claire must now be enjoying all the hard earned $$$$s she’s stolen from innocent people. Too bad we can no longer trust telephone marketers. I’ve bought several successful vacation packages in the past so very thankful there are legitimate travel services out there. Just be extra cautious of out of the country (Mexico) telemarketing. Very hopeful there really is BAD Karma that remains down on these crooks!!
