The Invention Channel overcharged won't refund Fairfield New Jersey

On March 10, 2003 I found an ad for the Handy Chef in the coupon section of my local Sunday paper. The order form stated "Two Handy Chefs for $9.98, that's $4.99 each plus $4.99 S&H". Directly above the cut out order form was an 800 number in large red print.

I phoned in my order at 1-800-418-9696 and paid with a credit card. The total should have been $14.97. On April 14, 2003 my card was charged $23.96 from The Invention Channel.

After recieving my bank statement on May 20, 2003 I phoned customer service at 1-800-777-4034 to dispute the charge. The representative told me this item was not in their system at the price I quoted from the order form and perhaps I should have mailed it in to get that price. Even though I had the original ad in front of me she would not credit my account. I was overcharged $8.99 and she pretty much said that's too bad.
