I made an appt to have two 8" bath faucets installed in new granite and also to check a running toilet. (Service window was 12-4. Technician arrived at 4:30 and left by 6:00.)

No existing plumbing needed to be removed and no pipes had to be moved. The faucets and all parts were already purchased. It was simply installing the faucet and making 8 connections. No quotes are given over the phone. The quote is given upon arrival. After waiting since 4 1/2 hrs and also having guests in the home, I was astonished at the price but I did sign. 

The charge is as follows:

install faucet 367.50

"replumb" under sink 185.00. 

So, to install 2 new faucets in in new granite with no plumbing moved/changed, the labor charge was 552.50! 

To correct the running toilet, a had to be installed. The kit costs 50.00 and takes several minutes for a handyman to install.  

The charge is as follows:

219.11 for a toilet tank rebuild.

The total charges came to 1281.00 for a 1 1/2 hour visit.
