I am a parent with 2 children affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD), who attend HOPE School. The owner and staff at the school are always professional and forthcoming. There are some therapies that are done in a group setting, and that is completely acceptable. The entire program is individualized, and if an individual needs group therapy, then it is given.

When the school initially opened, there was a turnover of several employees. I didn't find that unusual at all. Many establishments have to 'weed out' the ones that quite aren't up to par. In fact, the school now has an AMAZING group of theraists, students, teachers, etc. All of the clients are well aware that the only board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) is the owner. She is extremely competent and works closely with professors at the University of Houston, as well as trains grad students. As a matter of fact, I don't know of any ABA based schools in the Houston area that have more than one BCBA on campus.

Also, this school is the only one in the Houston area that combines ABA in a preschool setting along with typically developing peers. I encourage anyone with a child affected by ASD to visit the school and see what a loving, enriching environment it is.

I have (2) children that currently attend this school, and they both get 1-1 therapy every afternoon Monday through Thursday. There have been some staff turnover, but for the most part, the staff at this school has remained consistent over the time that we have been there, and my children talk about them and the fun things they do quite often.

My children have varying levels of affect from their Autism, but Hellen and her staff have been absolute ANGELS to us, and to our children. The therapy that they have received has been instrumental in the progress that they have made towards their recovery, and I can't think of a better place for them to be every day.

If ANYONE reading this has ANY questions from a parent of a child at this school, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would be MORE than happy to talk with you about this school. Hellen cares about these children more than anything, and her life's calling is helping these kids. I pray and thank God every day for her being in our lives.

The Original poster's screen name is Honestyisthebestpolicy. I find that truly misleading, in that there is VERY little fact to back up the "claims" that are made by this person. They aren't the first person to fabricate/stretch the truth to get back at a former employer, and I hardly think they will be the last. But in the end, truth ALWAYS triumphs, and in this case, I think the truth should be known.
