The Zaken ripoff scam consumer fraud Canoga Park California

Received an offer from The Zaken Company to work at home finding merchandise from manufacturers which they would like to dispose of.

Had to purchase a "workbook" for $164. Also stationery for $169 and postcards for $70.

After 3 weeks I had found several business that were interested and the information was sent to the Sales Manager, Nick Lasorsa, who was supposed to process them.

Then Mr. Zaken said I would need to purchase a "directory" of companies to help me find merchandise. This would cost $498. I mailed a check for this on 10-21. On 10-22 I received an e-mail from Mr. Lasorsa that he had discovered it was a big scam and the Zaken makes his money from selling this material. I stopped payment on the check on 10-23.

I have been unable to contact Mr. Zaken at all and have only received more glowing reports of how much money I can make. I have contacted several other people who answered his ad and not one of them has received a dime. Also he has suddenly moved from the original address to the one at the top of my complaint.

Mr. Lasorsa says he has filed a class action suit for us, but we will probably not receive any of our money.

I would appreciate it if you would report this matter.
