Theado Reed Adonea - Traditions - Creek Maintenance Department LLC Requested 1/2 upfront, didn't show repeatedly for job, kept changing money owed, when we fired him kept the 1/2 for 1/4 of work Aurora Colorado

We hired Theado and his Team to complete drywall in our basement. My husband had hung most of it but we needed him to hang the 25 remaining and mud tape texture.  We hired him and paid for half of the money owed. He didn't show the first few days he was expected, no call no explanation. He had someone come in to do a small amount of work to get ready for the whole team to come in and finish it up. His team discovered some work that was "not done right" by our framing contractor and needed to do additional work.

So we paid them for that as well. We bought all materials. They hung most of the drywall, but continued to schedule days that they never showed up for. We would get a text 30 min before or not at all saying he was not coming. We fired him after multiple times. We asked him to reimburse what was given for over 1/2 of the job since they did less than 1/4 of the work. He refused and said we still owed him 250.00 and came up with an equation that included hourly rates never given or agreed on. We argued for hours about it and got him to refund $75. It cost us a total of 1700.00 for them to what little they did.

We agreed on this measly refund amount in order to get a receipt of paid in full bc we had a conversation with him in the beginning about how contractors can take liens out against a home where services were rendered and not paid for. He portrayed himself as a Christian and quoted scripture to us the whole time we interacted with him. His business practices were vile. Prices were changed depending on who he spoke to, he changed a total bid for labor into an hourly rate of $55 in order to not reimburse us properly. He changed our finish time from 1 week to 40 days when questioned about his lack of work.

He does work in the Gunclub Area and after warning neighbors about him it was exposed privately that he was doing the same thing to others as well. We gave him many chances to be fair and fix it and he has refused. He has been abusive and threatening in a public forum when he saw that I shared my experience with him without exposing his name. I do not recommend him for a single thing besides being a person to throw money at and never get it back. Beware of him. We are in the process of filing a small claims case and making sure no one is cheated this way. Especially Disabled Veterans and Active Duty Personnel because we are a household with both.
