TheDigitalExpo.com Tried to charge me a different price, wanted to sell me a refurbished item, asked me for $150 extra, forced on me a 20% cancellation fee Ripoff New York New York

On December 17th of 2006 I ordered 3 Sony Digital Cameras for a price of $576 ($179 each + shipping & handling). I found the website with over 900 positive reviews and the lowest price in one of those sites that list websites and prices.

After placing my order I received an email where I was asked to call to confirm my order. As I got into my office today I called to confirm my order and the person I spoke with told me that the cameras were Refurbished and that if I wanted new ones I would have to pay $50 extra per item.

I politely pointed out that this was not said in the website and that if this was the case I would rather cancel my order and order somewhere else since the full price was much higher than the price is on other places.

The customer service rep then proceeded to tell me that I had to pay a 20% cancellation fee. Politely I told him I refused to pay this since this was not fair, an abuse and on top of it it was not stated on their website, I had not been given the full price and that I had already placed the order. I then told him that I would not pay the amoutn and he started yelling at me.

I asked for his manager and he told me "he was the owner of the store", then yelled at me that my order was cancelled and hung up on me.

I called my credit card company just to make sure I wasnt charged anything from this fraudulent website. I also reported them at the BBB and the FTC. I suggest you all do the same so this fraudulent company goes out of business.
