On June 22, 2009 I received two seperate letters 'Congradulating' me for being accepted as a representative for their company as a 'Mystery Shopper' with 2 bogus checks from two different banks with two different signatures from 'thejobplanet.com' posing as 'SecretShopper' agents.

One for $3,975.00-"Members First Credit Union" signed by Misheal E. McLoud and one for $3,975.62-"National City Bank" signed by Tom Jasper (Remitter: Nelson Peters). Both letters were signed by Stephen Greene Rep ID# CND-7920-55.

Both letters even had two seperate contact phone numbers: 888-284-7760 and 416-877-8313.

Both with the EXACT same instructions:

Total allocated: $3,975.00
Salary per assignment: $200.00
Wal*Mart Purchase: $40.00
Service Fee/Money Gram: +/-$75.00
MoneyGram trans/transfer: $3,660.00

I contacted both numbers and informed the representative that answered: Daniel employee ID: T69, that these funds would not be remitted until they cleared my bank. He informed me that would be fine. Just deposit the check and find out how long it would take for them to process the check and call him back with the timeframe.

Needless to say I found this website with the same letters posted and did not deposit these checks.

Job site in Minnesota, banks in two different states and post-marked from Canada.

There is a LEGITIMITE website: http://www.secretshopper.com/ BUT they DO NOT send checks with their assignments and are NOT affiliated with these letters.

Thanks to Kimberly in Augusta for posting this bogus information I received.
She posted a great link: http://www.secretshopper.com/info/shoppers/Montrose.pdf for more info.

Be aware-they are still sending out these letters.

Sights on Service (aka Secret Shopper) SCAM

AUTHOR: barefoot - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, May 05, 2012

"Mystery shopping is a legitimate business" but Sights on Service is NOT.  I did a mystery shop for them and was never reimbursed for the over $100 spent on the shop.  Liz B. told me there was nothing she could do unless I was to pay a $35 stop payment fee on a check I never received.  When I responded to send the check minus the stop payment fee, she never responded.  I have done many mystery shops, with OTHER companies and have never had any problem what-so-ever.  Sights on Service is a scam.

#1 UPDATE Employee

It is a scam!

AUTHOR: Secretshopper.com - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 18, 2011

It is a scam; it does not have anything to do with our company, Sights on Service or Secretshopper.com or do we P employ anybody by this name. Please go to our website at www.secretshopper.com to read more how to
avoid these scams in the future.

Legitimate companies have no reason to ask shoppers to send them money or charge you money. All our services for shoppers are FREE.  If you get an offer that sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Mystery shopping is a legitimate business, but only if you are dealing with legitimate companies. Don't get scammed. If you receive a cashiers check in the mail, with a request to wire money to someone, don't do it! Contact your local authorities and the FBI...and fax a copy of the
materials you receive to MSPA (Mystery Shopping Providers Association) at

972-755-2561 or go to the website at http://www.mysteryshop.org/. Thanks
