This company has to be the biggest ripoff that I know. Online stream is horrible, and customer service is the biggest scam ever!!! My grandma signed a 3 year contract with them so she could watch TV programs from UK such as BBC, ITV and etc. The monthly fee is about $95. When she signed the contract she understood that she could watch it on her PC via SlingPlayer. However, the troubles soon came after the service started. It seems that TheTelly.net always change their viewing settings and "update" their software, so whatever you have installed on your PC would no longer work. My grandma is 75, there is no way she could adjust the settings on her PC, so I had to do it for her for the past a few years. Also TheTelly.net's emails never ever explain how to readjust the setting in their emails. If you have any questions, you will have to submit a tech support ticket, and each ticket will cost $25! That's right you have to pay $25 for their tech support. They also sell 5 support tickets for $100. Now I know why they purposely made everything so difficult for it's users. This past April (6 months after their last major change), they are changing again, something called "Digital Switchover". Now my grandma's Slingplayer doesn't work anymore on her PC. No channels, no streams, no nothing. I thought I could fix it again. After went through the entire TheTelly's site, there were not anything to explain how to regain the stream via Slingplayer, nor did TheTelly offered any alternative to the Slingplayer software. Then I went to the SlingPlayer's site, I found out they have removed the software for PC and Mac, and now requires a set top box. Of course these set top boxes are not free. Basically if you buy TheTelly's service, be prepared for regularly disruptions of your online streams, 0 customer service, and constant system changes so you can't watch anything. DO NOT buy any TheTelly.net service. Only thing they know is to take your money, take advantage of older people who are not tech savvy, then leaves everyone in the cold. If you are a lawyer, and you are looking for a good class action law sue, you should checking into this company.

Inaccurate ...

This complaint was signed May 2012. Claims to have (past tense) signed a 3 year contract. No one had signed a 3 year contract until after that date, and in May they were not even available! So that part of the complaint is baseless!
The monthly fee for 3 years has never been $95.
THETELLY relies on hardware and software from a third party, Sling Media. We also rely on channel line-ups in the UK over which we have no control.
We do not update software; Sling Media and Humax (a recorder vendor) do.
Why is it a scam to charge for technical support? Companies everywhere do it, especially to keep costs low when support is not required.
Our web site contains comprehensive information about every aspect of our service. Technical support should rarely be necessary. Indeed, that department resembles a Maytag commercial.
Everyone using our service and every person the UK changed over to Digital this year. Hardly our fault?
Alternative to the SlingPlayer software? Like what? We do offer a different brand but that would have no difference with Digital Switchover.
Sling Media software (as of today) still make desktop software available in addition to apps, and their own web site viewing capabilities. Another inaccuracy.
System changes (both within our scope and outside) have occurred at most twice in our five year history. Clients are not required to pay for them.
We have successfully serviced several thousand customers and continue to do so.
While we regret that this one customer is clearly disappointed, but based on the mis-information we find it difficult to believe it to be credible.
If "Ken" in Hollywood would like to identify himself as well as his relative, call our office, we would be more than happy to set the record straight and get to the bottom of this complaint and perhaps make them happy?
