Thompson Multi Media Rippoff. Socorro Texas

I sent a GE telephone under warranty to Thompson Multimedia for repair or replacement almost 3 months ago. I got neither but was told - after 3 long distance phone calls and a long time on hold at my expense, I would be getting a "buy back" check. They admit to having the record of the phone's return, perhaps because I have a signed PO receipt.

I have called at my expense 8 times. Every time I'm told they will research and call me back. There has been no response and no return calls as promised or any mail, email, check, repaired phone or any other communication. I warned them the last time on the phone and in an e-mail that I would not waste further money on calls but pursue this through the media, the Attorney General and every other available resource.

One of the operators let out that they had many complaints about not receiving checks and she was "going to take them "all over there, along with mine." It seems this was more classic buck passing. As was the promise another time that "a supervisor was over there right now and they would call me back in a couple of hours." They did not, or communicate with me in any other way.

I suspect this company hopes people will not invest the time and frustration required and will give up. I have seen other complaints on the web about their lack of response and attitudes. I wonder if it is in fact deliberate policy and criminal behavior.
