I am looking for all individuals who are memebers of Thumbtack and suspicous about the validity of leads that Thumbtack claims to provide. I have not had 1 response from any of the leads Thumbtack generated even as I am offering a free lesson!
Most importantly I am looking for a legal team who will pursue a claim against Thumbtack on a pro-bono baisis.
The company is scamming hundreds of professionals who are looking to increase thier businesses. I am asking all current Thumbtack members to document the leads they have received and all correspondence with the customers.
I want them shut down.
Thanks

I used Thumbtack to find a custom cabinet maker and Thumbtack provided me with professional criminals

I hired a custom cabinet maker through Thumbtack.com and according to Thumbtack.com, they had verified a background check. After, 3 months of waiting for my cabinets to be built and installed, the cabinet maker never shows up for installing the cabinets. He had given me design specs and even created a sample of the cabinet and door style I had chosen. Everything seemed legit and thinking that this person was recommended thru Thumbtack and that on Thumbtack's website, it said his background had been verified. I Googled George Meszaros, Clearlake CA and found he has an extensive criminal record. Now, Thumbtack is telling me they are not responsible. I have paid the cabinetmaker $17,500 for custom cabinets in my kitchen, pantry, laundry, and rental unit downstairs. I have no kitchen and all my plans for having my old parents to come stay with me from Florida for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are shattered. Also, I was expecting to rent out the unit downstairs for $3500/month in order to help me pay for my mortgage and now that has also been shattered. This has affected me emotionally and financially in a very big way and Thumbtack thinks it has no responsibility in this. I am looking for a lawyer who would take this case on as a pro-bono case. Please email me directly at navisme@gmail.com

Ive been using this service and paying for fake lead or quotes. Ive contacted them several times over a year and a half. And nothing gets resolved. Pay for customers ,sent quotes and nothing but excuses.. ive even quoted prices very low(unbeatable) and i havent heard from one single customer from thumbtack. Its a scam.. and most of the customers reviews on contractors profiles come from friends.. i have text messages from thumbtack support telling me this.. its all a scam.. some people say.it works maybe for some and for others they.send bogus leads? Idk..?

You can add me to the list of Thumbtack victims. They have scammed me with over $600 worth of bogus leads. I was desperate for leads and really had hope that I was going to get work. 6 months of paying and didn't receive not one lead through Thumbtack. Talking to their customer service is useless. If there is a class action lawsuit- count me in!

I, too, am a PRO who got ripped off by Thumbtack. Apparently they have made a new clause in their user agreement as of 2016 that you makes it impossible for you to participate in class action lawsuits. HMMMMMMMMM...... I would love to get these guys busted. I feel strongly that they are fraudulent...

Hello,
Yes I belive Thumbtack is a fraud. They do have some "clients" that are ligit, but I feel a large number of the lisitngs are fraudualnt (made up). I have suspected this for some time, but kept with it a little bit as I did get a couple of jobs which I belive were lucky hits on actual people. I recently responded to a Craigs list ad and got back a response from what I feel was a thumbtack employee attempting to solicit my business on the site. They "Found" another photographer using thumbtack and oh hey have you used this service??
I beleve a class action lawsuite is very doable considering the number of people who feel the same. I am interested in pursuing this and am in the process of doing so.
Contact me back if interested
Anthony
