On 6/4/2008 I contacted companies listed on lists.the-dma.org regarding email lists brides. In fact, I made about 5 inquiries of what I thought was different companies and it turned out to be the same company, discount-lists which appears to be a spinoff company of TMONE. I was contacted by them regarding the lists. Initially I was seeking email list of brides; however, after the quote for brides I decided to ask for a quote of businesses in the wedding industry. I gave them a list of SIC codes and they responded with a quote. I made it very clear that I was only looking for email lists. And they keep assuring me that these were double opt-in etc.

Made the order, got the list and started sending out emails in batch. I had a 63% fail rate or return as invalid on just 8,500 emails. Plus we got over 50 complaints from receivers of the emails. In fact, our email list company suspended our account because of the large bounce or fail rate and complaints. Then when I ask them about it, they act like they were doing me a favor by including the emails on the list, when I was very clear that this was my only need. Their sales practices are deceptive and mis-leading.

I have made every attempt to contact them and ask for a refund on the list, they consistently ignore my refund request and offer me more lists. I explained that I cannot use their list because of the problems. Still no response for refund.

I want to make sure that other customers are aware of their sales practices and to be careful about doing business with them.
