I got ripped off this week over $545.00. Susan Morrison listed a Sony Vaio Laptop (used) on craigslist - Miami, Fl. Said she was local at the time of ad on 05/13/08. A few days passed; before she emailed me back and now told me she is in England on business and we can complete the deal overseas. She gave me the "link" to TNT Global Services in Wolverhampton - United Kingdom. The link appeared very legitimate. In fact, the website is exact as the real deal.

The scam is very real and scarey. These people duplicated this reputable company's website t to the exact graphic design; color and specification. They then superimpose your information on a fraudalent created template to make it appear as the real site for this freight company. They even give you a tracking # and if you inquire on the website "fraudelent site they hook you into you actually get a pop up page that shows your shipping information, and even an actual shipping status.
The demand for Western Union money transfer is also the hook. They tell you the name of the 3rd party agent in charge of your freight; they send you a freight confirmation sheet exactly as the real company does and your monies are picked up by the crook and THERE IS NO FREIGHT COMPANY. ITS ALL FRAUD. BEWARE,..... BEWARE...... THEY WILL EVEN SEND YOU PICTURES OF THE LAPTOP AND GIVE YOU A DANCE THAT THE USED EQUIPMENT IS IN FACT THE REAL DEAL. SCAM... SCAM... RUN..... I LOST $545 AND AM DEVASTATED BY THIS.

I TESTED ANOTHER LISTING AFTER THIS ON CRAIGSLIST. ANOTHER SCAM CROOK BY THE NAME OF "AMY" - BOLD DREAMER .. HAS AN APPLE LAPTOP. SHE WILL RESPOND THE SAME WAY... THAT SHE WAS IN MIAMI, FLORIDA BUT IS NOW RESIDING IN ENGLAND ON BUSINESS.

BEWARE ... THE CROOKS ALSO STOLE THE WEBSITE OF "DHL" INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT SHIPPING. THE LINK IS EXACT. .RIGHT DOWN TO THE COLORS OF THEIR WEBSITE BUT IT IS NOT "REAL"....

NOTIFY THE FBI INVESTIGATIVE UNIT IN YOUR AREA AND ALSO CONTACT YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT. ALSO EMAIL THE CRAIGSLIST AT (((Redacted))).

ANYONE WHO DEMANDS YOU SEND OVERSEAS MONIES VIA WESTERN UNION, BANK TRANSFER, MONEY ORDER, OR CASHIERS CHECK IS A 'SCRAM". THE REAL FREIGHT COMPANIES DO NOT PROVIDE "ESCROW" 3RD PARTY SERVICE "AT ALL". AND THEY DO NOT DEAL WITH MONEY TRANSFERS OF ANY KIND.
