Together Dating Service made many promises and used high pressure tactics to persuade me to join. They assured me I would have a minimum of 6 "dates" a year but stated they usually have "many more" than 6 dates. They proclaimed that I was very slender and attractive and it would be no trouble finding men in my age bracket. I joined a year and a half ago and have had exactly 3 dates.

I have made several attempts to get my money back but the service has refused. I even had an attorney send a letter stating they had "breached" the contract, but did not get a penny back. I would like to take them to small claims court but havn't been able to find the correct company name on the internet so that I can have papers properly served. I'm still researching the Business Licensing Department in the state of California hoping to find the correct legal name and address.

Find Correct Name of Business

AUTHOR: amanda2rose@sbcglobal.net - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 15, 2009

Apparantly there is a information available through the Secretary of State website.  It can give us the name of the business and the agent for service of process. Basically what you are looking for is to see that they have recorded a Fictious Business Name with the state as they are required to do when you are not using your own name for a business.

I recently researched Together, now known as Two of Us, because I have been victimized by them.

The corporation is called Vaughnt Management Group, Inc., 10866 Wilshire Blvd. #565, Los Angeles, CA  90024.  As of 7/10/09, the person listed as the Agent for Process of Service is Ethan Baker.

This corporation filed a Fictious Business Name record n 10/8/08 changing the name it does business as (the dba) to Two of Us.

I believe the proper small claims venue is the West Los Angeles Courthouse on Purdue Ave.  Based upon the statute of limitations, you are starting to run out of time.  So if you are still interested in suing them, you need to do so NOW.

Hope this helps.  I am getting ready to file my own Small Claims action within the next week or two.

Amanda
