On October 1, 2009, I was contacted by someone named Tom Hank, who said he works for Roen Textile in Italy.  He had seen my ad on Craig's List.  He said that his company was looking for someone who could print checks and mail them via UPS or FedEx to places around the US.  He stated I had to purchase software and special magnetic ink in order to do this job, and the job was 2-3 hours each day.  He stated he was located in Italy.

He said that I would be paid $1200 a month for this work, and reimbursed for any supplies that I had to purchase.

On Saturday he called my house.  The phone number was from Kenora, Ontario, Canada.  He told me that he was using an "international" cellphone, and that he was in Italy and that the number was an Italian number.  His accent was French, not Italian.

On Monday, October 5, I received an email from a Lauren Harr, who claims to be the Managing Director of Roen Textiles.  She was thinking me for taking the job as a payroll specialist.  This was the first mention of doing payroll!
