Tom Hazlett, Tom Hazlett Homes Inc A TOTAL NIGHTMARE! BEWARE! THIS IS 100% TRUE! Weddington North Carolina

Tom Hazlett sold us a contract to build our dream home, everything seemed smooth until about half way through the process. Most of the vendors had very bad contractors with bad attitudes. Very unprofessional trash talking idiots. They would constantly talk about Tom and all his business not to mention ours. Sometimes it would be true, sometimes not.

Our home was never managed properly I would have to follow up with vendors personally, go to the job site mutiple times throughout the day, clean up the constuction site, etc.

Meanwhile we were starting to realize Tom wasn't paying the vendors for work done in our home even though he took the draw from our construction loan to pay the vendors. Vendors starting to call us or worse yet stopped working on our home due to money issues. I had to explain to them we paid Tom and we didn't know what he did with the money.

To compound matters when we confronted Tom he claimed we were unreasonable with the vendors and that is why they weren't working in our home. Vendors had told us that Tom stated we owed him money and that is why he couldn't pay them. LIES LIES LIES.

Never ending lying is what you will get from Hazlett homes. It was a constant cycle of apologizing, doing the work, lying, apologizing, doing the work, lying etc. It was the most stressful time my family has ever endured. It has turned our dream into a nightmare.

We are currently in our home by the grace of God with a hefty punch list but we could have been as bad a some of the other owners that currently have half built homes.

To the person that stated in his report that vendors will only work with Tom that is a total lie. You do your research and you will discover for yourself that No one will work for Tom Hazlett. One vendor told me directly, "I want nothing to do with Tom."

Unfortunately some vendors are very misinformed that they can put leins on our home because we had Tom sign off at closing that he paid all our vendors off pertaining to our home in full prior to moving in. Thank God for our lawyer.

So beware of Tom if you meet him. He will have a smooth conversation and show you some beautiful well built homes but he won't tell you that it will take forever to build and he steals from Peter to pay Paul.

On a positive note our home was very well built it is a shame he did not have his business in order.
