Our son had a problem with his cell phone over heating, so we called verizon. 4 times they had him put numbers into the phone, 4 times it did not work. Verizon finally had us send them the phone after a month. They replaced it with a reconditioned one that after a few days of using it would say--No Sim Card No Service. The sim card was in the phone.

This morning we get up and find out we have a $299.00 extra charge on our bill. It is for the phone that was sent to them back in August. That was 2 months ago. We call them, they received it in a damaged box. We were told that the screen was cracked & the box was crushed. It was a very good chance that it happened during shipping. All I know is that when it left our possion the screen was not damaged so if it happened during shipping why should we have to pay 299.00. It was sent back just the way Verizon told us to ship it---back in their box to their specs.

We were also told today that the insurance that we all pay on those phones--if you send it back to verizon--your insurance is no good. That came from the woman from verizon when we ask her about the insurance covering the phone. So why do we pay for the insurance??? It is just another way for Verizon to scam people out of money each month.

We are not the only ones that they have done this "cracked screen" scam to. People are having a hard enough time making ends meet without crap like this to worry about. People have to worry about just paying the bill little alone the extras that company's are trying to scam people out of. People need to start standing up for there rights again and quit letting companies make all the rules for them.
