TopCashBack is a third party company based in both USA and UK, which acts as a liaison between a buyer and a merchant and states that they pay 100% of the commission to the buyer within 3 months from the purchase date.

I made a purchase for American Express on April 22, 2013 for the amount of $3,000. On that day, TopCashBack had a promotion for 2.5% and my commission should have been $75. The website shows my click to American Express website, the order was paid, received, and confirmed by American Express. However, TopCashBack claims that they cannot post $75 pending because they cannot proper track the transaction.

I contacted them many times and filed a missing cash back on April 29, and every time they sounded like they were buying time in hope I will forget about the money and give up. At first, it was 3 months from the purchase date, then they changed their story and said 3 months after the posting day. Then I received an email on May 30 (over a month from a purchase date) that they sent the claim to American Express on May 30 (prior to that they were saying that they were working to resolve the issue, but that was another lie) and that it would take several months (!) and even longer (!) to resolve the issue and that they`d appreciate patience. It`s been 8 weeks since my purchase, and they haven`t even posted it.

There are other sites with a similar model such as ebates and mrrebates with less commission promised, but they always pay out. In case of unlikely problem with a tracking, those sites request order details and post commission very quickly. TopCashBack is a different story. They keep buyers` commission received from merchants and blame the merchants from not giving the commission. The internet has many complaints similar to mine. Please investigate this deceiving company and stop this scam.
