I know my projects very well and this project was the home of Michele DeGuerin Luke (daughter of Attorney d**k DeGuerin) who is married to Attorney Robert R Luke @ 2014 Addison Road, Houston, TX 77030 the person who wrote this false report appears to be J. J. Jefferies aka "John Charles Jefferies" (a fired contractor). 

We feel this Ripoff Report was written by “John Charles Jeffries” AKA “JJ” the owner of “Heights Home Restoration” who damaged our client’s home which was mentioned in this report. We discovered several problems with him during the middle of our project and noticed he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol along with possible drug usage of marijuana. During the project his attitude changed on a daily basis and as a result of his actions we had to fire him as a subcontractor. We spent thousands of dollars correcting the damages that he created. He has a history of lying and misleading people as he has done on his website http://heightsresto.com/ by using this statement “With over 20 years in home repair”, however he was born on Oct. 13, 1977 and this would make him 11 yrs old or in the 5th grade at the time he started or maybe younger since he claims over 20 years.  After reviewing his company’s website we discovered several misleading facts. He is not a member of the BBB and the BBB is now building a report on his company. His new company “Heights Home Restoration” was established in Harris County on 2/26/2009 and he advertises (832) 883-9521 as a business phone number and it is only a cell phone number. On the same advertisements he lists his business address of 1011 Ashland Ste. 9, Houston, TX 77008 which is his old ran down apartment complex (visit Google Maps). When we hired him as a new subcontractor we verified his references and the references later turned out to be his friends. We did not discover these issues prior to hiring him as a subcontractor and only discovered them after he preformed his workmanship for us a few weeks and ended up costing us thousands of dollars to correct. The positive outcomes for us are new procedures we have in place when reviewing and hiring new subcontractors.   Please be careful when dealing with this guy and do not pay him advancements until your project is completed.

Had you properly researched this you would have discovered that account was not mine. That account was owned by a female who used different names (Blanca Parra, Blanca Wallace, Meagan Parra, Meagan Wallace). I was a signer on the account only and she controlled the funds. 

BEWARE OF THOMAS EARL GINN! IF YOU SEE HIM!  RUN! HE IS A SCAM ARTIST!

TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THIS MAN! HE HAS CONNED SO MANY PEOPLE!

   Thomas E. Ginn has a long list of Sub-Contractors, Homeowners, Employment Services and Lenders that have losses that will never be recovered. He has recently negated his debts awarded by County Civil Courts through the Federal Bankruptcy Courts. He will never quit the only way he know's or is able to live his disturbed life. Thomas E. Ginn is a Sociopathe, unable to refrain from lying, boasting and bragging about the people he knows. He is unable to tell the truth and his family enables his behavior.                                         

   Thomas is not your average Con-man, he is an outstanding Con-man at 37 years of age and has found his nitche. His target customer owns a home usually valued at 1/2 million dollars or more so his payday is large. He plans his job to be completed as soon as possible so he collects the money and dissappears before Subs realize he is gone.  He has learned not to committ a criminal acts, he commits only Civil Actions usually against Sub-contractors and on occassion homeowners,  definately the Federal Government/IRS which has never recived a dime from him since 1992. Typical behavior for Sociopathe. It is not advantagious for anyone to file a Civil Suit against him because of the legal cost outweighs the financal return.

Thomas is Smoothe he has no employees or Insurance. All work is done by Sub-contractors that have no idea they will be cheated from their Final Payment.

Always get three estimates---Check References from contractor's most recent customers. If those customer references are more than a few months old, something is wrong!

Check with workers if they have'nt worked for the contractor before this job,WORRY!

I had thought that Mr. Ginn would have been out of business by now but it seems like he is still doing business in the same way.  I had a very similar experience to the one originally posted. 

He paid the subcontractors on my job with a bounced check.  They filed police complaint 1-02-000165 (League City Police Dept) on him.  How's that for verification Thomas???

Rip-Off Report does not verify its postings and therefore it allows false postings like this one to be published. This report was not written by a client/homeowner but rather a former sub-contractor that was fired for poor workmanship and over-charging for work that had to be redone at my cost.
