Okay, so I'm home watching tv and I see a model ad about open calls coming to my town, and to call 1-800-MODELING. Well since I'm really into modeling, I decided to check it out. Of course I wasn't too sure if I'd go because I've been to many Model Searches. Including Model Search America, and open calls to so many modeling schools I can't even recall all of their names. I've experienced it. I know how it works. You go to an open call, watch a video, then listen to the people tell you how modeling is great, but not everyone is model material, so maybe you'd think it's the real thing, who knows. After they talk, they interview you and ask numerous questions while looking over your card (you have to fill out before you go in) they go "uh huh, yes, alright" and take a quick look, and then say "thanks". I've gotten picked at everything I attended, but was only foolish enough to spend 500+ dollars on MSA.. and of course, I walked the catwalk but never received a call back. Anyway, after viewing TCT ad on tv, I decided to call and check it out. A guy answered and acted really nice, so I decided to ask him some questions. "I've been to many things like this, and I was wondering if this is a school, or an open call that leads to some convention where I have to pay a lot of money." The guy clearly told me they weren't a school, and no money was involved. I again asked more clearly, and again, his reply was no. I made my apt. because I thought this may be something I've been waiting for. I wasn't sure enough yet, so I looked them up. Boy, did my mind change fast. Not only did this site have MANY complaints, but others did, as well NBC. I read reviews of the people who attended their big party thing, or whatever, and saw it was a major rip off. Bottom line, I wasn't going to be a part of it. I called back, hoping the guy would answer that had lied to me. A woman picked up. -Hello, blah blah blah, may I help you?- Yes, I was calling to cancel my apt. with you guys because I looked you guys up and found out you're just a big scam. -Okay, how and where did you do this?- I typed in your name and hit search for reviews. -Oh, I see, well was it ripoffreports.com?- Yes, amoung many others -We've called about that and I'm not sure what they're doing at the site, but you obviously haven't read any of our good reviews.- I didn't SEE not even ONE good review, not even on your site, because most of your links won't work. So is this a place where you pay money and go out of state to this big convention? -No, it's free- NO, you do pay money AFTER right? -Well yes, everything involves money, Tira Banks didn't walk down the street one day and all these agencies walked up to her and paid for everything. If you want to make it in this world you pay, nothing in this world is free, you need to know that now.- Excuse me? You have heard of getting a portfolio and going DIRECTLY to the agencies doors? That's how you start in modeling, not paying some crooked place to steal my money and hope they get my face out. -Agencies take your money too- I KNOW, so why would I want you, and an agency taking my money? I'd rather give a honestly agency money for their hard work at putting my name and face out. If an agency wants me enough, they will pay. -Okay, well if you want to cancel I'll do it YES, I do want to cancel -Have a nice da--- *click* hung up before she had the nerve to be nice. Okay, if they have the nerve to sit there and lecture me about something I dream about, and have researched for years on end, maybe they can do it to someone who is only 16. Thank You.
