I started my own business and needed a credit card machine. I was contacted by Transnational Bankcard (ph 847-655-1300)and told about some different products they offered. I got a regular terminal for my store and one that I could take to clients homes. The first type of transportable terminal did not work in my area. The second type of terminal (called the Nurit 8000) worked one time and then never again. We called and downloaded the machine over and over and were sent new parts and a new SIm card to try but it still would not work after 8 months of calling and getting the run around from TNB. Thats 8 months x $67.55 plus processing fees.
Then I get in contact with Troy with TNB, who first asked why had we not called earlier, to which I expained we have been calling customer service and getting no where.( I do have a busness to run too) He wanted us to call again and try downloading again. Of course it did not work.SURPRISE! We gave Troy a list of names of different customer service reps we had spoken to over the last 8 months and he replied that some of those people are not very smart (OK! so why did I have to call the not so clever people again at your request?)Then Troy asked why we did not have a service and warrany contract. I had no idea what he was talking about and he made it sound as if I should know. I told him I am not a psychic and I don't know all their policys. Troy faxed me a contract for a warranty club with an anual fee of $75 and a monthly fee of $9.75. He said if I don't sign it they won't send me a new machine. (EXCUSE ME!! That is not legal). I verbally agreed over the phone but when I acually read it I got pissed off even more. The warranty contract states " TNB is not responsible for loss, damage or delays.. The risk of loss remains with Merchant at all times..." SAY WHAT? The warany doesn't warrany anything. Why would I sign that.
Now Troy sent out another machine before I faxed back the warranty. He said he would be in trouble for not having the warranty contractand That I would be liable for both machines valued $2500 each. Troy threatened having my bank account deducted for $5000.I sent both machines back.
I was so mad about paying for a product that didn't work I called Lease Finance Group (ph 866-781-0440, fax 888-271-7467) and complained and they said that is not there problem and to call TNB. TNB said they are "not responsible for wireless network coverage". So I'm stuck paying for a product that does not work now and will probalbly never work in my area. I had my bank stop the draft on my account which is collected by LFG.
I contacted the Better Busness Beaureau and complained which lead no where. I also had a lawyer look at it. Now since the lease company is separate from the bankcard company I am basically screwed and have to pay for a wireless card terminal that I do not have and does not work.
I definately do not recomend TNB or LFG. I recomend using a local bank in your city for credit card terminals even if it cost more. They are more likely to give a %$#@ about you. I have small business to run and I am wasting money every month on this lease. So $800 is not alot of money now but after my 4 yr lease is up I will have paid close to $4000 for the emperors new clothes.
