TRC Multimedia Committed fraud to scam money from small business owner Boca Raton Florida

"Jamie" repeatedly called trying to reach me.  She left messages saying that she was working with members of country clubs in my city who were interested in my services. 

When we spoke by phone, Jamie named three country clubs (all of which were in my local area) and said that they had asked her to find someone with my qualifications who provided the services I provide.  (This type of thing is not unusual in my business.)  She insisted that the three clubs each had separately asked her to find someone like me to provide services for their members, and that I could reach their members through advertising in their members-only quarterlies. 

Jamie said that advertising would cost $400 (for 4 issues) and would commence in January 2016.  She charged $400 to my credit card and told me the advertising team would be in touch to set up the ads. 

After talking with Jamie, I called two of the three country clubs to ask about their quarterlies, and they both said that this had happened to others recently and that it was a scam.  They had no quarterly publications or ANY publications for advertising, and they had had no business dealings with anyone named Jamie at TRC.  To their knowledge, no one had requested services like mine.  One of them already had investigated based on a previous incident and reported the scam. 

I called my bank, but the charge already had gone through.  I called and emailed Jamie within 90 minutes of the credit card transaction to say that I was canceling the deal and wanted a full refund.  (The paperwork from the ad team does state that customers have 3 days in which to cancel the transaction.)  I left a voicemail since Jamie did not answer her phone, and I have not heard back.

Since then, I searched online and found a BBB rating of D- for this company along with similar reviews (to mine) on both BBB and Yelp.  They've done this same scam with many small business owners.  The business address TRC gave me is the street address for a UPS store.
