Trinity Broadcasting Network Lied and extorted money RIPOFF Santa Ana California

Amidst the many postings here on the ROR site about televangelists and their alleged (or substantiated) improprieties/misdeeds, there is one thing of which you CAN be certain.  Namely, the Words of the Lord shall not pass away.

It is plainly written in the Holy Scriptures, "many shall come in My name...many shall be deceived." 

I have no doubt there are quite a few "ministers of the Gospel" out there who are wolves in sheep's clothing.  Just look at what happened not long ago to the founder and former president of Feed The Children, Larry Jones.

The Scriptures also plainly state, "there is nothing hidden which shall not be brought into the Light."  These "predators" may not see mans' justice, but they will...like every person...see the judgement of the Lord, one day.

There are many worthwhile charities/causes out there, such as, local shelters for the homeless...many of which are right in a person's own community.  It is a simple matter to do a little checking before making a donation.  Given the current economic conditions in this country, you don't have to look very far to find someone in need.  You might just find such a person living next door to you, for example...who's losing their home to foreclosure because they've lost their job. 

I can understand someone being duped by Televangelists once because some people have to learn the hard way.

But look at the photo of these pathetic people who look like they need psychiatric help and a complete makeover.

I know they are Paul and Jan Crouch and they have made millions, maybe even, billions of dollars with their TBN scam network selling broadcasting time to all kinds of ministers and even a couple of messianic Jewish guys to show how liberal they are...

Even so, I have to ask how many Chinese peasants, horse tails and shaggy dogs were killed to make all of this fake hair that these two burned-out husks are wearing in this publicity photo?

He looks like he is barely recovered from an all night gay orgy at the Bathhouse and could barely put his hair on straight. He looks like one of those middle aged lounge swinger types trying to live hip and large bar side at a Vegas lounge lizard place in the days of disco dressing, gold chains and leisure suits.

She, I guess it's a woman under all of that fake hair and troweled on makeup over a sandpaper complection, looks like a Drag Queen or a Bourbon Street stripper from the 1950s or a call house madam. Can anybody explain to me why Benny Hinn needs a Gulfstream IV jet? I saw on wikipedia that he wanted to purchase one. In case you don't know, a Gulfstream IV costs nearly $30 million to purchase. The annual maintence and operating costs are usually well over $600,000 per year. He will not get 1 cent of my money for this very reason.

My best friend died 5 years ago of cervical cancer. We both attended a local "prosperity gospel" church where we heard about tithing and giving and give and giving almost every single Sunday. My friend tithed and gave over and above the average person. She taught Sunday School for years and was also in the choir. If ever my friend ever heard of anyone needing anything she was always right there to help.

A few months before she died her husband took her to a Benny Hinn CONference. She was week and using oxygen so I called Hinn's ministry and a woman told me that my friend should not stand in the long lines b/c of her condition, but she should get the attention of a "worker" and tell him/her her situation and be let in early to sit in the front rows.

They went with all faith and hope that she would be healed in the name of Jesus. But when they got there & her husband got the attention of the worker, she was told she would have to wait. When they got inside finally, they were ushered to the back and upstairs way in the back where the cameras could not see.

She gave a lot of money to that ministry and other similar ministries, but it was not meant to be. Now we know that Hinn seats the very sick in the back so that his ministry will look like everyone is healed. This is a shameful way to desecrate the name of Jesus, all for the love of money....GREED by any other name.

My sweet friend died a few months later believing that God did not love her enough to heal her.

Benny Hinn has admitted that he can not substantiate one single healing, but that does not stop him from promoting his money-hungry 'BUSINESS' of fleecing the flock. He sells God and gives people false hope. How many people has he told they were healed and they got off their meds and died. Shameful! Then they tell you it's your fault that you didn't have enough faith, or you have hidden sin in your life.

If you got saved under one of these prosperity gospel ministries, please be sure you are really saved.....they sell a false Jesus.

I do not find the Christian Messiah as objectionable as many of us do, just the things that His followers, or people who claim to have been His followers have done to us for years in His Name!

We have a somewhat of a Cult that tries to give Jews a bad name too ( Messianic Judaism) and I think it is the same one that preys upon our impressionable young people, especiallly the ones who want to know about Judaism because they find something lacking in Christianity. They mention Benny Hinn a lot and I would like to tell you that he was NOT raised in A Jewish home. Synagogues can be pricey. They cahrge for seats in there on Holy Days (except in the Orthodox shuls) and every family that joins has to pay so much to have a memebrship. They have a few free seats because it helps them to do mitzvahs to let us poor Jews have a seat for free but those seats are usually up there where everybody can get a good look at you, how your clothes are not as expensive as theirs and how they are resenting that they had to pay hu8ndres or thousands of dollars for seats and the poor Jews sit there for free.

And when I went to check out a membership in a Christian church, they come at you with a credit check paper that you have to fill out and want to know how much money you make, etc.

I think I will too avaoid all religions and observe my traditional Holidays by myself.

I am told the same situation exists in the Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim places of worship.

Most religious organizations whatever they may be are really nothing more that private clubs where the members decide who comes inside. They pay their money. They should be able to do that.

I actually saw and heard Paul Crouch lie about the Bible to the viewers of TBN, and it was done in order to keep people in the bondage of following the lie that has been told by corrupt so-called preachers for generations concerning the tithe. We focus on educating people about the Bible and the Bible is crystal clear about the tithe and there is no refuting the truth. In regards to tithing, the question is not what is someone's opinion or interpretation of Malachi 3:10. The question is what does the Bible say about Malachi 3:10 and other scriptures concerning the tithe? The tithe COMMAND in the Bible was part of the LAW which was given by GOD to the ISRAELITES through Moses, had to do specifically with the produce of the land and the livestock (NOT MONEY), and can be found in the Old Testament (Leviticus 27:30-34) (Numbers 18:20-32) (Deuteronomy 14:22-29) and the New Testament (Hebrews 7:5). Hebrews 7:5 states And verily they that are of the SONS OF LEVI who receive the office of the PRIESTHOOD have a COMMANDMENT to take TITHES of the people according to the LAW, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham. Jesus referred to the Law in Matthew 23:23 as he spoke of the scribes and Pharisees tithe of the produce of the land (mint, anise and cummin), and Jesus also spoke of the Law in Luke 11:42 as he spoke of the Pharisees tithe of the produce of the land (mint, rue and all manner of herbs). The Israelites followed the LAW which required them to tithe the produce of the land and the livestock as stated in Deuteronomy 14:22-29 and Malachi 3:7-12. The tithe was for the ISRAELITES and it was NOT MONEY. How do you give money? FREEWILL GIVING, which has NO PERCENTAGE placed upon the giver, as shown by Jesus in Mark 12:41-44 as there were NO PERCENTAGES placed on those giving to the treasury, and also stated by the Apostle Paul in 2nd Corinthians 9:7, as Paul said "EVERY MAN according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver". The Apostle Paul said that no one is to give out of necessity, which is the Greek word anagke (an-ang-kay'), which is defined as constraint, and a person is not to give out of having constraints placed on them to give. People are under no command to give any other way than as they purpose in their hearts to give as God has prospered them. The Apostle Paul did not teach the tithe and there are no records in the New Testament showing that the Apostle Paul paid tithes to anyone while following Jesus Christ, and there are no records in the New Testament of anyone in the Church of Jesus Christ paying tithes to anyone, or taking tithes from anyone.
Corrupt so-called preachers have lied about the Bible for generations and attempted to use fear to generate money. As I stated at the beginning, Paul Crouch of TBN attempted to lie about the story of Abraham and Melchizedek by stating to the viewers that Abraham tithed to Melchizedek and then he was rich in cattle, silver and gold. He flat out lied to the viewers, because the bible clearly states that Abraham was very rich in cattle, silver and gold in Genesis 13:2 which was before he had ever met Melchizedek, which took place later in Genesis 14:17-20. This was done by Crouch in an attempt to reinforce the lie that they teach about Malachi 3:10 and most of the viewers probably didn't catch his lie, but this is an example of how they will lie about scripture to deceive the people in order to generate baseline income. When corrupt so-called preachers attempt to use Abraham, they don't inform the people that Abraham recovered the goods that belonged to his nephew Lot and the people of Sodom and Gomorrah because they had been taken captive and Abraham rescued them and brought them back along with their goods, and it was out of these goods that Abraham gave tithes, or in other words, a tenth, to Melchizedek. Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek out of the goods that he had RECOVERED that BELONGED to his NEPHEW LOT and the PEOPLE of SODOM and GOMORRAH. Abraham did NOT give tithes to Melchizedek out of his own goods, he gave tithes to Melchizedek out of the spoils that he brought back. Also, Corrupt so-called preachers don't inform the people that Melchizedek DID NOT ask Abraham for anything. Melchizedek DID NOT command Abraham to give him tithes of the spoils recovered. Abraham DECIDED IN HIS OWN HEART what he was going to do with the spoils that he brought back. Abraham gave freely as he made the DECISION to give Melchizedek a tenth of the spoils recovered, so here we see Abraham giving freely before the LAW, just as the Apostle Paul stated that those of us in the church today are supposed to give in 2nd Corinthians 9:7 when he stated "EVERY MAN according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver". Abraham gave as he purposed in his heart to give. Abraham made the decision and he was under NO COMMAND to give Melchizedek a percentage of anything out of the spoils that he recovered. Abraham FREELY DECIDED IF, HOW MUCH AND WHEN he would give Melchizedek out of the spoils he had recovered. Corrupt so called preachers don't inform the people that there is no scripture anywhere in the Bible showing that Abraham EVER tithed anything out of his own personal goods. This is the only reference to tithes and Abraham and it DOESN'T have ANYTHING to do with Abraham's PERSONAL GOODS. The only scriptures in the Bible about tithes and Abraham are Genesis 14:17-20 in the Old Testament and Hebrews chapter 7 in the New Testament where the story of Abraham and Melchizedek is retold, and we can plainly see that as stated in Genesis 13:2, Abraham was very rich in cattle, silver and gold before he ever met Melchizedek. This goes totally against what corrupt so-called preachers teach, but they lie about the Bible in order to generate baseline income. Corrupt so-called preachers also attempt to use Abraham's grandson Jacob, but they don't inform the people that God didn't ask Jacob for anything. God DID NOT command Jacob to give him a tithe of anything. Jacob DECIDED IN HIS OWN HEART what he WOULD DO and he states that he will do it only IF GOD DOES SOME THINGS FOR HIME FIRST. Jacob had no constraints placed on him to give anything and neither did Abraham. Not only did Jacob have the freewill to do whatever he wanted to do, he also placed certain stipulations in the vow that he made to God. Jacob vowed a vow to God in Genesis 28:20-22, which reads: " And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, IF God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father's house in peace; THEN shall the Lord be my God: And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee". Jacob plainly states that IF the Lord blesses him first, then he will make the Lord his God and out of all that God gives him, he will surely give a tenth to God, which shows again that Jacob intends on God to bless him first and then after God blesses him first he'll give a tenth to God. The corrupt so-called preachers don't want the people to know the truth and they are afraid that if the people knew the truth of these scriptures their money would be cut down drastically. The majority of those who are giving money are the poor people in the world who believe the lies of these men and women and give what they can't afford to give in the hopes that they will receive a blessing based upon the corrupt so-called preacher's lie about Malachi 3:10 and other scriptures. Most people are following the lie of the church tithe for financial reasons. If everyone said what Jacob said and everyone decided to wait until they received the financial blessings that they are seeking from God to get them out of financial turmoil before they would give one red cent, the baseline income that these liars are generating to live luxurious lifestyles would be cut down considerably. I was born and raised as a Christian and one thing I learned was that people "humans" are not to be trusted. (Trust no man) I dont attend church or any religious organization any more because its basically tied into some business or political function. By taking tithes, you may as well have a casino. These people get nothing back and there is nothing in the bible that states a person is suppose to submit MONEY every paycheck or monthly. To my memory, it stated wine, food and gifts for the preacher and it was never something used as bait to instill fear into poor people or anyone. In closing, there is no scientific way to conclude this. I have to allow the "benefit of the doubt". I will leave it to Mr. Crouch's "heresy hunters" to continue the debate. I for one, have better things to do.

The fact is that I am extremely offended by people who want to tell me what to believe. All Priests, Preachers, televangelists and any sort of Religion is built upon that kind of Control. I despise it!

I do not agree with Benny Hinn about the Tithe. In my opinion, TBN and Benny Hinn are Practicing JUDAISM. It's not my idea of Christianity. THEY THINK its CHRISTIANITY and they have that right to believe whatever they want, no matter how far off base they may be. I'm not here to insist that I am right about anything.

I do want to voice my opinion on it. It's Judaism and I'm not Jewish. What that really means is that I'm not religious. I do in fact agree with many Jewish Traditions and many Jewish ideas but I do not practice tithing which originally was something that was done in Ancient Israel. I do not believe that Christianity has anything whatsoever to do with Tithing. In fact, I believe that Tithing is ONLY DONE as a JEW, not as a Christian, but again, this is my opinion.

Also, I will note that Benny Hinn has stated on TBN and inferred that people might have to pay somewhere around 22% if they haven't been tithing. I disagree.

Also, the Ancient Jews did not actually Tithe every year. THEY TITHED EVERY THREE YEARS! The Televangelists don't tell you about this at all because they would lose revenue. I'm not saying these people are necessarily crooked, I am saying that they don't read the Bible fully and I think they miss things and I think they are somehow deceived about what the Bible actually says. I don't see how they can miss it but I am not calling them liars at all. They read what they want it to say and not what it actually says.

Also, I've asked Jews about this and even they can't answer me clearly about the Tithe. The Tithe is also depending on if you are in Israel. IT IS A JEWISH THING. Also, I went to a Jewish Temple in Oklahoma City for 2 years and I was never asked for any money whatsoever. I am not Jewish. I liked the Jews in Oklahoma City; I didn't like the Jews on Beverly Boulevard who threw me out for sleeping. Jews are different in different places. But even the ones who threw me out had the right to do so because they probably thought it was disrespectful to keep falling asleep. I couldn't help it because I was homeless and was walking around Hollywood all night long. That's fine. I'm not anti-Jewish and I'm not Pro-Jewish either. I don't care about Religion at all. I'm trying to escape it and I have rights as a U.S. citizen to at least the pursuit of happiness and that means running as far from a Preacher as I can get because I've had all I'm going to take from them. I don't like being controlled against my will by Religious People. TBN is a television show and I don't even have a television anymore and that's good but even people who do have a remote control so they can turn it off. No one forced me to watch TBN. I used to think it was good. Sure, some people may get benefit from it but I DO NOT! It has done me more harm than good.

By the way, the Catholic Priest I was talking about only wanted 5% so maybe people should try it because it's a lot cheaper that way. By the way, I'm not a practicing Catholic anymore either but I've no quarrel with them at the moment. They do not insist on controlling me and I don't allow them to either. I won't even let my Uncle control me and he's another Preacher. He believes what he believes but I don't believe it. :)

Hey, it's America. Benny Hinn can do whatever is legal and by the way, there is no law against lying. People do it every day and the police can't write you a ticket for it unless you lie to them about speeding or something when they know you did it. I'm not saying Benny Hinn is lying, I'm saying anyone can lie and get away with it on television or in a Church because most people never check out what Preachers are saying just like most people don't really check out what the Politicians are saying and doing.

Yes, and they can lie about Benny Hinn too. I apologize for being stupid enough to make this personal. It is NOT! I don't know Benny Hinn and I'm not interested in attacking his integrity or his ministry in any way.

I am interested in being free of the control of Religion and the ideas that I don't believe in.

Yes, I do believe that Hebrews 7:18 canceled the Tithe. It does not exist in Christianity. The Tithe is an Ancient Jewish idea and only a Practicing Jew might do it and even they might not do it and it may depend on whether you are in America or in Israel. It is not at all clear what Jews actually do. They have different ideas too.

We could get into the idea of Spiritual Judaism and the so called Church being "The New Jews". Well, there is no end to what people can say to twist this. People will have to decide for themselves.

People even claim that Christ supported this idea but they forget that there was no Christianity until after the resurrection. In my mine opinion, Tithing is a way to Crucify Christ all over again. I am totally opposed to the idea and that is my opinion. If you want to Tithe, go ahead, it won't make you rich. But you can get rich with the idea of Television.

Frankly, I see no use for TBN or Benny Hinn Ministries because way too much of people's money goes to support a plethora of television shows that no one needs to watch anyway. What's wrong with reading your Bible instead of listening to someone else tell you what it says. And why listen to me, go read the Bible and figure it out.

In the end, I've got my opinion, you've got yours. This is America and TBN and Benny Hinn are part of that. Freedom of Speech including Larry Flynt, President Bush, and even me. Wow! What a concept.

I would like to try and amend this to some extent.
I would like to point out that I once got upset with a Catholic Priest who was talking about tithing as well.
While I've been in San Jose, it occurs to me that the Priest sees things from a different viewpoint than I do.
He believes he is helping people by asking for the tithe. He actually used the phrase:
"It will destroy you, it won't destroy us."
I took offense to this but now I think I see why I'm wrong.
The Priest actually believes that not tithing will destroy them.
He is not trying to extort money but from his point of view, he is trying to help people.
Likewise. Rev. Hinn is likely of the same mindset.

As far as the reports on the Internet, they are not things that I can necessarily prove, for instance, in a court of law, therefore, my words were premature. So, I'm dropping my accusations for lack of evidence.

Furthermore, I have no real evidence whatsoever that Rev. Hinn has any malicious intent. In fact, I apologize if I refered to him as a money hungry televangelist. It is mistake to generalize like that anyway.

I once said, "Benny never says anything wrong." I don't know what happened but somewhere, I believed all the bad reports. It's better if I go back and give Rev. Hinn the benefit of the doubt.

It's Christmas and I think everyone deserves a break at this point.

Ok, first thing I would like to say that I know nothing about TBN and their monetary practices. However I am very familiar with Benny Hinn's practices because my family and I are very good freinds with Benny Hinn. I have personally made it my goal to publicly defend Benny Hinn. Everyone and anyone who would like a copy of their financial report all you need to do is call this number 800-433-1900. When anyone has any kind of ministry that is "out of the ordinary" anyone will try, do and say anything that they can to bring reproach against that person, church or ministry. But what "unchurched and churched" people alike fail to notice time and time again is that many of these so called "money hungry ministries" are so scrutinized that they go through rigerous auditing by the IRS and by themselves. I can't speak for all ministries, but I asure you Benny Hinn's ministry is not a money hungry ministry. They are a blessed ministry and so is Benny Hinn, but who says that preachers must be poor? If you are a christian or not and honestly believe that preachers are to be poor or not take any money then personally I think you are jealous because they are prospering with what God has called them to do and you are not.
