Its not rocket science to figure this one out

I will first say Trucker Desiree is no more a trucker than she is a stripper or a model (which she too tried and failed). If she was really worried about the trucking industry maybe she would actually try to help the industry with higher pay rates rather than helping to shove it further in the hole.

Real hard working truckers that do what needs to be done in this country. 

Unfortunately, there are also bottom feeders in every industry and Trucker Desiree

I would like to support and echo my wife's comments.  I have observed significant misinformation posted on Twitter and other internet sites by Desiree Wood.  She is not typical of a serious truck driver.  

Most truck drivers who take the business seriously close their left door and take care of business.  Since I spend my time on the road taking care of business, I have had very little time for social networking sites.  

Desiree Woods campaign is not helpful to the trucking industry, and I would suggest she get her facts straight and learn to tolerate people who disagree with her.  

The trucking industry would be much better off without her useless left wing and misleading propaganda.

You dont know me but I have been watching you since someone I know told me about you. It seems to me you are a two face liar. I cant not believe that you would talk about someone and not except to get Rebuttal back. I believe you should shut up and drive your d**n truck when you are driving it. You talk on the radio and smear lies. When ever I hear you on the radio I want to start chewing nails. You have a nerve to dish it out but can take it back.  I have spoken to the women you have slandered and I feel they have a case agaist you for slandering there names all over the radio. I have heared you myself! So, If you want to start S**t except a countersuit. We have plenty of documents ourselves. You cant keep your mouth shut and butt in other peoples business. You have already done this on here.

You think you drive for a great company? HA! All big companies are all about the money and your just a number. You talk about how women should protect themselves in trucking. I dont think you have ANY Idea how to tell these women how to protect themseleves when you cant even seem to protect yourself from walking your dog without getting seriously injured.

You talk about wanting to help women that are in a bad situations and yet you havent been through a whole lot yourself. I in other hand have had my share of co drivers. You need to research your facts before you start telling people what to do. I dont believe that your an expert on this subject.

Now I have also realized that you have been telling people who to talk to and who to avoid. What gives you the right to do that? You are no better than anyone else.

I also realize that you ran your mouth so much that the men in truck will not even help the lady drivers anymore. Thanks Alot since some things are difficult for some of us to do. I don't even get "road courtesy" anymore from the male drivers because of you. You have created more divisiveness in this industry when you claim you want us to all be "on the same page"

 I also believe that you are causing women who thought about trucking and now they are changing their minds. And do you realize that when you say women are victims in trucking the companies will stop hiring women.

Now, if you want to continue in this little charade I will personally put up a website myself and be against your site. Real women in trucking dont give a rats a*s what going on the internet. They just want to drive. Yes, there are issues and I will personally make sure that is brought up and how to deal with it. You cant stop what happens you can just try to avoid them.

Most women aren't "victims" and can handle themselves.  Stop scaring women away from the industry, stop slandering, attacking and spreading lies, and if you really want to see positive changes happen, then start getting everyone on the same page, and stop creating an atmosphere of fear, paranoia, and anger.

I do not know who this "Ann G" is, but she has woven a fanciful tale of hearsay without personal knowledge of Desiree Wood.  Nowhere in that rant did I see any indication that she spoke directly to Desiree.  She "diagnoses" mental illness without providing proof of licensure to do so.  In most states, practicing medicine without a license is an offense.

I HAVE had the pleasure of meeting Desiree & her dog Karma.  She is an outspoken woman with a real heart for protecting other women from the experiences she had in the trucking industry. 

Who in their right mind would suggest that someone "deliberately" busted their kneecap to take a ride on workman's comp??  That is an incredibly painful injury, and being out of work is no pleasure cruise!  There is no way to "fake" that kind of injury.

One can hope that Ann G will take her criticism for this poorly "researched" rant, and find a job more suited to her talents.  Fiction writing would be a good option.

I don't know who you are but it is VERY apparent that you are NOT a truck driver (otherwise you'd know the TA is in WEST Memphis, ARKANSAS and not Memphis, TN). It is also very apparent that you are someone whose mouth/fingers are on fast forward and whose brain and fact checking machine are on rewind. I'm also pretty sure that you are someone who has no real life of your own otherwise, if you got your @$$ out from behind your computer and out your front door into the REAL world...you wouldn't have to hear about all of the cool and interesting stuff that goes on out there from everyone else.

And WIT saying they are Christians is like me standing in my garage and saying I'm a car...doesn't make it true....

And, by the way....YOU'RE the one talking to male truck drivers about truck stop sex gossip...so just what do you think THAT says about YOU? Sounds like voyeuristic, creepy stalker, s**t mentality to me...(yes hon....I *know* I used some big words...get a dictionary...)

TOS clearly states here anything false will not be tolerated. What Ann G. fails to realize is they can eventually track the info to her. When that happens I think she will be sorry for lying on the internet about this woman. I don't even know her and it makes me mad. Remember what is on the web stays on it and there is always a printer.

When I first found Desiree Wood on the Internet I enjoyed reading her experiences. My husband and I  were going through our own trucking nightmare as he was forced to go through one of the "trucking schools" Desiree has written about. He had his CDL but since he had not driven a truck for 20 years no one would hire him but a trucking school company.

We never had reason to doubt her story since my husband was living through 9 months of what we can only describe as indentured servitude to the company. As I got to know Desiree I found that there were people out there who did not like having a trucking industry whistle blower in their midst. The attacks were slanderous and unfounded just as this Rip Off Report post is. She has never "billed herself" as "THE woman's trucker advocate." She merely told her story and spoke out bravely without fear when she witnessed truck drivers being wronged and the dangers they face, especially women.

My husband faced a dangerous situation as he was placed with another driver who had personality problems and was very combative. If a man can run into these kinds of problems, it was not difficult to imagine the nightmare scenario a woman could run into. The Other women trucking group mentioned is not advocating for women on these issues and their statement of purpose admits that. If there have been bad relations between them and Desiree it is purely because Desiree will not be silenced.

The author of this slanderous post against her will unlikely reveal him or herself. She/he has not personally been wronged by Desiree but obviously carries a grudge for some imagined slight. It is also unlikely this person is qualified to diagnose anyone as having a "mental disease" as the writing style and subject are quite elementary.

If you have a question for Desiree, ask her. For the past 3 years I have known her she has always been a highly intelligent open book always willing to discuss trucking industry issues.

your babbling is amazing. you jump from personal attack to personal attack without any evidence or facts or anything else. that's a typical "making up while you go".

I have reading and following Desiree for some time and nothing that you write comes even close to the person I'm reading about.

From my personal experience, is very clear that you are being paid (or work for) a company that feels attacked by Desiree.  She is trying to improve things for the drivers.  Obviously if a company doesn't want to expend money and improve things it will resort to personal attacks to try to influence people in not believing Desiree several writings.

You even mentioned that she injure herself.  That's is so false. There are pictures of the injure. Nobody in their lucid mind will resort to this terrible injury just to stop working. She loves her job so there is no reason to do that. You have no evidence of anything. 

I offered her some money to help her after she injure herself and she refused. I offer this multiple times and she always turn me down so the "she is trying to milk her company" is false too. When you are a con you don't turn money down.

You obviously work or you are paid by somebody to write like this.
I've seen politicians doing this to raise their likability (paying relatives).

I've only been on Twitter since September of last year.  During that time I have 'met' many wonderful individuals in the trucking business, of whom Desiree and her dog Karma are two of these wonderful individuals.

By chatting with these people I have learned a lot about the trucking industry - information that I think is important for all of us here in the US.  We need to know HOW the produce and material goods that we rely upon in our daily lives gets to the stores that we frequent.

I think it is important that we also know about how people in the trucking industry are treated.  In this regard, Desiree has been one of the people at the forefront.  I have always found the information that she shares with the public to be informative.

How many people REALLY care that a trucking company closed its doors around Christmas time last year, stranding thousands of workers in far-flung reaches of the US without a way to get home?  Well guess what?  Without people like Desiree and the other truckers posting about this issue on Twitter many people would not have known about it.

It is a shame that some people have so little in their lives that they feel they can write slanderous comments about someone they've never met and will never meet, and the information they have posted is hearsay and gossip.

Keep up the good work Desiree.  Keep up the good work - all the wonderful truckers in the US.

I am Desiree Wood, I am the person who wrote my Student Trucker Horror Story on a website called Ask the Trucker. It is called A Day in the Life of a Lady Trucker. I began writing it in 2008 from a Palm PDA because I did not own a computer but I felt compelled to let other student truckers who were being recruited and an incredibly high rate know what to expect so they could be successful. I was extremely concerned about single women entering who had been encouraged through government programs and would be blindsided by the unprofessional training atmosphere.

I had written two emails when I was in distress. One was to Ask the Trucker and the other was to Women In Trucking(WIT) . Only Allen & Donna Smith from Ask the Trucker responded. I also joined Women In Trucking with high hopes as my story took off like gang busters on Ask the Trucker, a free site.  

I wrote a second time to WIT to tell them that I was writing this story and despite its instant popularity with prospective male students, I was trying to let women know what to expect to protect themselves.

I was invited to write about it on the WIT forum by Membership Director Char Pingel but I was immediately made to feel unwelcome by another member who seemed to dominate the organization web site.

To me it was a good visual example of another aspect a woman would find in trucking. There was little leadership for entering women and they are not made to feel welcome by other women. There is enormous jealousy and suspicion. This is a major contributor that pushes women to look for someone who will help them and ending up trusting someone they should beware of, often someone who has had multiple complaints against them is being protected. There are also inaappropriate women recruited who are misled into this industry because they provide favorable quotas and tax incentives but they are not well informed.

I began a thread on the WIT forum which had over 3000 reads while the other posts had at the most 200 reads, if that. This stepped on the toes of another member who views herself as a writer. I am not a writer but my writing took off almost instantly. It was simple jealousy.

I approached the President about the behavior because to my thinking if she was interested in gaining female trucker memberships which were $10 for students & $25 for an experienced driver, she was permitting this single member run a lot of traffic of her board who had set up camp as the last word in trucking.

While this Woman was knowledgeable on some things , she was not providing any valid information for entering students who would have to be trained in one of the huge government funded trucking fleets where students must go to get enough experience to move into better paying jobs.

I wrote privately to President Ellen Voie to avoid her any public embarrassment on numerous occasions and I still have those replies. I also became aware that another member, a female dump truck driver was stalking me around the internet. In an email I was told that they had seen people like me before come around and they simply ran them off.

This encouraged me continue writing more because I took great offense that  a non-profit was using religion to brand themselves and permitting this conduct.

 The truth is that most of the women I have met since I have entered trucking are lesbians. The Gay Community has a very strong voice in politics and I felt if I could make other credible womens organizations who care about violence against woman take notice they would be just as sickened as I was.

I did not appreciate the political affiliations to this organization having a favorable tax status putting up a false front that they advocate for women in the trucking industry when in fact it is mostly for show on the surface.

I found that many of their sponsors had recently emerged or were engaged in serious sexual harassment cases and that they seemed to be more interested in protecting the sponsors than assist the women drivers.

I set about blogging on this as it unfolded and this is all documented on my site:

My membership was revoked after Ellen Voie found out I was going to appear in the Dan Rather Broadcast.  Many people in the trucking industry knew Dan Rather was doing an investigative report into trucking and many organizations were filmed.  Ellen Voie was filmed doing her speech at a convention but it was cut out because it was deemed irrelevant.  Most of the organizations in trucking knew Dan Rather was doing a story and saw it as a free publicity opportunity BUT they DID NOT know Dan Rather knew about me.

In total there are 4 episodes based on clues in my student story, I was also in the 2009 Highlight show as being one of the most controversial episodes, this is in part because trucking has a real stranglehold on the media that gets out and they had no control on this escaping into the general public.

Ellen Voie personally tried to discredit me to filmmaker Beverly Petersen although I had never worked for her. My Company did not try to discredit me.

I will say that Covenant Transport is now in transformation and I am hopeful they are successful because there are many good people working at this company who want to raise the standard.

When I brought my story to twitter it was an instant success and I was contacted about a number of topics which I did not feel qualified to discuss. I did join OOIDA but I found that they had just as much drama going on by their female staff as there was at WIT. I also found that they are a non-profit but sell insurance which is made me see that advocacy for the American Trucker is not what pays their salaries. I found they get involved in lawsuits for a variety of areas but they are too spread out to be entirely effective. I saw that they did not concentrate on winnable endeavors like no-brainers that would simply be good for motoring safety and American Trucker.

I found that using religion and using non-profit status is a perfect cover to give people jobs. I found that a non-profit means you can spend way more on administrative costs than to actually achieve your stated Mission. I found that many of these organizations may appear to be advocates as a membership device but they do not deliver. I found there were many people who did not like a new kid turning up telling the truth and giving it away for free.

I started Real Women In Trucking to post blunt free information for people researching on the internet. On that site is a 3 part Question and Answer with Ellen Voie where she tries to defend the unfortunate remarks she made in the Raw Sound Bytes from a Trucking Convention video appearance but she ended up making herself and her organization look worse.

I was on the phone daily with WIT Director Marge Bailey during this period who posted frequently on this series of posts. It was clear that these women have always been able to call someone up and have derogatory remarks taken off the internet about them and they were not used to being able to not control this with me.

There is much more about Ellen Voies personal career and life details that I did not permit to be made public but most people in the industry all ready know. Truck Drivers do not have much ability to get information about who is for real and who is for show but they want to believe someone is fighting for them.  It became clear that WIT was interested in corporate sponsor members with big names and this is a conflict for drivers who are having trouble with the same carriers. When push comes to shove, no organization advocates for the drivers but they will take your membership fees.

Becoming a public person of course brings out FANatics and I have had my share in the past 2 years. Oddly, most of them claim to be Christians who have some sort of odd fascination with a single girl driving a truck. There are also a couple women who were indeed trying to get a foothold to another level.  I did help them with money only to find they were scam artists. Once these Women were revealed to be scam artists they quickly tried to cozy up to Ellen Voie the President of WIT. They should not be trusted and should Ann G turn out to be one of them there is enough collective documentation that I think a legal action should be engaged so they cannot scam money from anyone else.

Here are a few facts to address Ann G of Little Rock who I believe to be one of these trolls. 

1.       Real women In Trucking is an informational site, there is no membership and there never will be because I do not feel personal safety should be sold.

2.       It was my intention to publically determine if President Ellen Voie of Women In Trucking would revoke a membership for speaking out about abuse to women truckers when some were her sponsors; this is why I rejoined but I do not support Ellen Voie and the way she is promoting herself .

3.       I was told by Marge Bailey I helped WIT because no one ever heard of them until I came along.

4.       I feel WIT will use anyone and anything to promote themselves without delivering safety as a priority. Their current media campaign is a tattoo party so they are really not even on the same page with me of the type of information I am trying to provide .

5.       There is much unpublished information on Women In Trucking emails exchanged between myself, Donna Smith, Marge Bailey & Ellen Voie to document how contradictory the stated mission is. At this time I feel an intelligent women doing research into this industry can find what she is looking for, that was not the case when I began this project.

6.       There is no TA in Memphis Tennessee but there is one in West Memphis Tennessee and my Company Covenant Transport restricts our trucks from stopping there due to high crime, freight pilferage and possible hi-jacking risk. I would not have been seen there because we do not stop there unless it is a fuel emergency and we are to keep rolling. Anyone from my company would know this because it comes over our satellite Qualcomm system whenever we come near the vicinity to remind us we are not to stop anywhere near this location.

7.       My "poor dog" as Ann G refers to her, is more popular than I am on the internet and this has really made my trolls angry. She is a dog though and there are times when I must leave her in the truck because she refuses to push the shopping cart when I run my errands. I do idle the truck for her when I leave and she has a DVD of barking dogs that I put on the TV for her.

8.       Since I began trucking over two years ago, I have taken very little time off which I mostly attended conventions. I have had very little social life, if I had slept with someone it would have been a nice break from the monotony but Im afraid after a day of driving Im too tired to socialize and not much of a socializer when I am away from the truck either.

9.       I am not against having sex in a truck but the person I have sex with does not own one and he is not interested in having it in mine. Besides the dog sleeps on the bottom bunk and I sleep on the top bunk which would be very impractical for two people to fit.

10.   There ARE NOT many good trucking sites on the internet. Most have ads for the worst trucking companies and this in itself should be an indicator that these cookie cutter blogs and sites are simply recruitment cover sites.

11.   Recruiters make money from turnover so it is beneficial to promote misleading advertising.

12.   My Company is called Covenant Transport NOT Covenant Trucking, if Ann G. of Little Rock, Arkansas actually did any research at all she would at least know this item.

13.   Since my fall in early June & hospitalization I have blogged less than in the past 2 years. This is because my surgery has taken a toll on me and I never expected my story to take on a life of its own the way it has. Also, I would like to return to having a life outside trucking but for some reason the trolls want to make me a celebrity that I am not, nor do I wish to be.

I have been called an advocate but I am just one person who wrote a story that organizations tried to cover up and discredit. I am not selling anything.

I just write on my two sites and people from the trucking industry, media & individuals read it. I get contacted for projects, sometimes I cooperate but most times I refer other women who want to tell their stories. Most do not follow through for various reasons.

My story has been told but there are people who are angry no one wanted to talk to them or visit their blogs. Some of these people are men who are simply jealous a female trucker with a couple years of accident free experience getting so much attention.

In fact a few months ago the President of the Owner Operators United endorsed the free website of information Real Women  In Trucking and one of the trolls wrote to him with unfounded remarks trying to get him to revoke his invitation.

He did not because what I am writing about needs to be said so that people can protect themselves. As a collective group truckers can become more responsible for the unity among one another that used to exist but has been eroded by people like Ann G. of Little Rock who spew hate and jealousy rather than help brother and sister truckers, and those who aspire to become professional drivers to learn safe and stay safe.

I personally know Desiree Wood and have worked with her on several situations involving Women Truckers that were treated unfairly in the Industry. Desiree is a very truthful and upfront person.  She tells it like it is in an imperfect Industry that needs to have situations brought public in order to find a resolution or change for the future.  

Not all people agree but that is their right, but she is not a Liar.  As far as references made to your "mental disease"..that is laughable and strongly urge this editor to demand certifications in the medical field that qualify this person to state "Medical Opinions".  I myself see nothing wrong with her stability, in fact she is one of the more sane persons I know, even though people like this one try her on and tell untruths and try to push her as far as possible with personal attacks, unfounded and undocumented lies.

Furthermore in my personal workings with Ms. Wood I can state that at no time did she receive anything, including compensation for what she is doing.  I did not receive or ask for any compensation for the work that I did in helping out women in this Industry.

I also suggest that these acusations could be considered slanderous, since I and many people know they are untrue and unfouded.  This website should take this into consideration and demand proof of the untruths against an individual that is undoubtedly a true informer of the truth, even though many companies do not want to hear it due to financial loss.

Desiree Wood, TruckerDesiree, came to us for help a couple of years ago, sharing with us her horrible experiences during her CDL training school and during her new driver training program with her chosen carrier. She had come to us for help, not for herself, as she had already over come what was done to her and came out victorious, but rather, to help others so that they would not have to endure what she had already gone through.

Desiree then wrote her story on our blog, "A Day in the Life of a Lady Trucker", which is commonly known as Desiree's student trucker horror story. The characters in the story are fictitious, so she would not reveal any real names of those either in her CDL school or in her company training program.

This rip off report about Desiree is filled with opinions, rumors, lies, and assumptions. If you read the report you will quickly notice the author has NO first hand information, but rather says a lot of:
 "I heard that," "I hear that," I don't know the validity of this but," I have been told that,"I also heard that,"

There is no apparent personal experience between the author of this rip off report and Desiree, but rather what" has been heard" from others or what the author has "observed" going on with others.
This is one of the most slanderous pieces of have read, with no evidence nor truth....a lawyers dream come true!
The accusations are abominable and I'm actually shocked that the contents has been allowed to be on the Rip Off report as it breaks  the guidelines.

To be able to refer to another as a "truck stop wh*," based on what another person told you what they saw, is beyond me.  However, to accuse Desiree of faking such a serious injury, which caused extensive breaks and dislocations, is just downright evil.

My advice is to read this authors post again, and see if you can determine the  true motive behind it.

When one writes a rip off report, it is suppose to be about what someone or some company has done to you, not what "you've heard" that has been done to another or what you"suspect" they are doing, using here say and rumors.

We  live in America people, and we are innocent until proven guilty, not guilty because of things we suspect or have heard.

I will end with this:
Since Desiree's story was published about her trucking school and new CDL driver experience, we have done investigations, and have discovered that the company CDL training programs which are presently in place at this moment, are indeed in need of a complete overhaul and investigation. It is they who should be written about on this report. Many of these company training programs, as they stand now, do not protect the innocent and vulnerable people who enter into them with wide eyes, hopes and dreams.

It is Desiree's story, and her appearance on the well known Dan Rather Reports,  that has given others the courage to come forward and describe their own personal experiences that they've endured during many of the trucking company training programs.

The saddest part, is that there are people and trucking organizations who are trying to protect and downplay the abuses that are going on within the industry. They should be trying to help protect the abused and innocent and improve the system that is presently in place rather than create a smokescreen of diversion towards Desiree's efforts.

I hope that the author of this post will contact me, disclosing their full name, and show me any proof or validity to these allegations.
