Tune It Up Motors ripoff Brampton Ontario

My 2001 VW Beetle went to visit the forest on my cousin's property up north.My front end was damaged.I towed my car to Tune It Up Motors June 20,2006. I was told $40/hr labor.Nuno(owner of Tune It Up Motors) looked at my car 3 days later told me "I will guarentee you it will not be more than $5000 if you pay me cash you can aviod the taxes".He then proceeded to tell me he would need half of the mechanicl upfront before he begins(he quoted me $3000 on Mechanical)the remainder when the mechanical was finished,the same for the body work.I paid Nuno $1500,he started the job.I asked Nuno to put all of the parts he replaced in writing so I knew what he had done.I still haven't recieved it.Every payment I made Nuno wrote on the back of his business card.

3 Weeks later the mechanical was done.Now the problems began.I would go by the shop at least twice a week,only to here Nuno tell me he's waiting for parts for my car."The rad support was on back order it will be here by the end of the week" he says,then tells me it came in but the wrong one.He tells me there are 5 different rad supports that go in my vehicle,Nuno gets it right on the 5 one.Then tells me it was cracked so he had to return it.This carried on for 1 month.He finally gets the rad support on,now he's waiting for the hood.I began to get irritated and decided to talk to Bill(the gentleman doing the body work on my car about 4 units down from Nuno,4 Wheels Collision)only to find how irritated Bill was with Nuno as well.

I begin to explain to Bill who I was.Bill says "don't you want your car back",at this time it's been approximately 2 months.To make a long story short we both found out we've been getting the run around from Nuno.Bill was told Nuno was gone to get parts from me,and I was told Nuno was gone to pick up parts.Bill explains to me that my car sitting in his shop for 1 month looks bad for his business.Now Nuno has both Bill and I on his back after we compared stories and realized Nuno has taken us both for complete fools.

As the days went on I was promised my car on every Friday that passed,the Friday before the labour day long weekend,Bill sprayed my bottom grill gave it to Nuno for installation.Nuno was still waiting for my driver's side mirror,(he kept on getting the wrong one,again my car had 3 different mirror's, so he says)Nuno tells me he was going to put any mirror on for the sake of me having my car for the weekend.I was to call at 6:15pm to find out when I could pick it up.At that time he says call back in 2 hours,8:15 I call only to here more lies,"the paint on the grill is still fresh and if I put it on the grill will crack,I can put it on, but if it cracks you pay for it.It's your call".So I go down to the shop at 8:30pm only to see that he had absolutely nothing done.There was at least 3 hours of work to be done on my car.I realized it was late in the evening and he was using the grill as an excuse for his laziness. I got really mad told him to put the grill in the back seat I would take the car the way it was. Nuno started yelling at me and said he didn't get a chance to look over the mechanical(this is after 2 months)and for safety reason's if I took the car I would lose my 1 year warranty,so I left my car.As I was arguing with Nuno I realized the driver's side signal lamp lense cover was shattered.I asked Nuno to replace it and since we just noticed it,he told me I had to pay for it.I was so frustrated I left the shop and went home.I decided to review the pictures of the damages on my car.Then realizing both of my signal lamps were shot out.I confronted Nuno with the pictures the next day.Nuno was speechless,then says"I swear on the ground I'm standing on I don't know how the signal lamp got there".My signal lamp is still not replaced.

Sept.13,2006.My driver's side mirror had been hanging from the light fixture in Nuno's shop's bathroom for 3 days prior.I told Nuno I was coming with the $450 remaing and I wanted my car completed that same evening.He tells me no tomorrow at 1pm.I was so frustrated I went to his shop took my mirror put it in the back seat of my car,paid him $250 for the mirror and left with my car.To this day I have unfinished mechanical and body parts on the car that I have paid a total of $5450 for.His original quote was $5000.I still don't have my fog lights.I asked him to return my old ones,Nuno says he can't find them.

Sept.27,2006,I bring my car back because I hear clunking in the front end.Thinking that Nuno promised me 1 year warranty on mechanical work.I was told my strut mount on the passanger side was broken,but of course Nuno says that wasn't from the accident.Meanwhile he worked on my whole front end suspension.I asked "maybe could you have missed it since you replaced my struts and control arms".Of course Nuno insisted it was wear and tear.Now this is more money I have to put out to fix my car.After all this I realized I was just wasting my breath on Nuno.I've been completely ripped off and I needed to share my experience,to let everyone know beware of Tune It Up Motors!!!!
