Hi,
Hi I am a student at Bronx Community College and my girlfriend wants to enroll there. We went to the office of admissions 3 times. The problem is she has an Ashworth University High School Diploma she achieved at an online program they offer, but Bronx Community College wont except it because they claim its a fake or not accredited. We showed them the papers that it is but, they still wont except it. B.C.C. gave 3 different excuses, the first one was we don't except online courses, the second excuse was it's not in our database as highschools listed and the third was that the diploma aint the same as whats on the transcript.
We even had a woman who worked there call the school and ask Ashworth for proof, they told her it is accredited, then she said everything is ok. my girlfriend got excepted supposedly. Her acceptance letter even came in and all she had to do was bring in proof of residency. Turns out that at the last moment they told her they dont except it because supposedly the name on the diploma aint the same as whats on the transcript. On the transcript it says James Madison Highschool because it was formaly known as James Madison Highschool.
I don't know who is lieing, I mean Bronx Community College is a legitamite college so I dont think they wouldn't except her on purpose but, if you go to the U.S. Department of Education website it says that Ashworth University is accredited and I don't see anything that says they dont except online highschool diplomas on the B.C.C. website.
I would deeply apreciate if anyone or the person who made this website on a couple of questions that are yet to be answered:
Is the Ashworth University online highschool diploma program a Fraud?
If it is a fraud, prove to me in anyway you can.
If its not a fraud prove to me its not a fraud.
Can anyone tell me what colleges in New York City have excepted people from Ashworth University? Give me the college list. If so did you have an problems with the diploma?
Do you even know how it feels when your accepted and then at the very end when your about to register your classes and all of a sudden you get denied, it's beyond heart breaking. I felt so bad for my girlfriend. PLEASE! PLEASE! If your a reliable source or if the owner of this website can answers these questions for me please tell me.

Effective January 2011 Ashworth High was bought out by James Madison High. To view accreditation for high school check with AdvancED.com as they have a country-wide database of all highschools public and private that are accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Ashworth College is also accredited by Distance Learning. As an HR specialist we review many educaiton documents for hire and verify these online free database with the United Stated Department of Education website.

i have a high school diploma from ashworth high school and i'm from n.y.c and in college in new york in 3months i will be getting my degree from lehman college just do your research and check you're spelling u will find a college in n.y.c you can not talk about a school is a ripoff if u don't do your research try it sometimes it helps.

One should always do a little research before making a decision that will influence their lives so drastically.
The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) is the place to check:

You can enter the information and CITA will give you all the institutions accreditations. This particular High School is both CITA and SACS accredited. You can find that information on the above site. SACS accreditation does not cover New York.

Ashworth High School is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), which accredits all public schools in that part of the country. Check under the name Ashworth University.
I recommend contacting SACS and asking them what you should do. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Ashworth High School's accreditation, unless a college does not want to accept a home-school course, which does happen.
