I researched buying palm trees from Ty Ty in Feb 2003. My company decided to buy them for me as a gift so while I did the research they paid for the trees. I spoke to Jason Willis several times prior to Feb 2003 regarding price and planting. He advised me that the Palms are 250.00 each planted at my home in Columbus GA. without warranty and 350.00 each planted with a 2 yr warranty stating that if anything happens to the trees such as it does not grow or disease they will replace it!We went for the warranty!

The 2 Palms were planted on Feb 20th 2003. The man who came and planted the trees said I should start seeing growth in about 8 weeks. June 13, 03 I called Jason, advised him that I was concerned,there is no growth at all on either tree. He advised me that is normal.

I caled Jason back on Sept 18,03 to advise still no growth. He says it could take up to 8 months for roots to regenerate don't worry. I advise him I am starting to worry since I was expecting to have some type of leaves as told by now.

I called Jason Dec 15, 03 to advise him I have growth on 1 palm but nothing on 1. He advises me to call "Joe the palm planter" and gave me a phone #. The # he gave me was disconnected. I called Jason, advised him of this. he trys to give me another #. I advise him that I bought these palms from Ty Ty and he should call him. He took my # and said he would check into it. I never heard from him.

Sat Feb 7, 03 on way to Florida. I stopped at Ty Ty and spoke with Jason. He said bring the Tree in. These trees are 15 and 18 ft tall brought in by truck when planted. He said warranty covers plants when brought back in. This was never mentioned to me during any previous conversations and I was advised "by Ty Ty" to pay the extra $100.00 per tree just in case they do not grow or have any problems in the 1st 2 years they will be replaced! I advised him this is impossible since these trees are huge and thousands of pounds. He tells me call Rick Patrick owner.

I did, Rick heard story and took my number saying he needed to "Ponder the situation". He never called me back (2 weeks). I called him today (March 15,2004) and he refuses to replace and replant saying he subs out palms to Joe the Palm Planter. I advised Rick that should he choose this route I will be going further and he said fine!

This company uses deceptive selling practices suggesting warranties that they have no intention of fulfilling if something goes wrong. At this time I remain with 1 Cabbage palm that seems to be growing slowly and another that has done nothing in over a year sitting in my front yard. I am in the process of getting prices from another Palm supplier for him to take up and replace this palm and we will most likely be going to court. Unfortunately for Ty Ty it will most likely cost them alot more in lost potential business then the $350.00 they ripped me off for!

Ty Ty Nursury also has an 80% DIS-SATISFACTION rating on www.gardenwatchdog.com. Go there to see MANY more Dis-satisfied customers and read their complaints. Had I seen these sites prior to buying from Ty Ty I would have never done it and suggest you don't as well
