In early October of this year, I was in search of a car for my household. After being turned down by others due to some struggles I had with my credit (years ago, I was hospitalized and didn't have insurance so the majority of my bills are medical), I came across an E-mail for this website as well as one for Global Auto in North Plainfield, NJ.

I filled out the information and got news within the next day that I was approved.

I got the same response from a representative at Global Auto Mall named Erica. That all I would need is to come up and pick out the car, along with driver's license and pay stub. Global Auto I have complained about in a separate report.

I asked Erica if I needed to come with any type of down payment, explained my situation to her that our household had no running vehicle--that to come from central NJ to northern NJ via transit would take me close to two hours--and she assured me no.

However when I got up to the dealership, Erica wasn't there--I was handed over to a guy named Carlos. Through checking out my pay stub, in which I explained that since I had gotten promoted since I had first started the job, he kept saying I wasn't making enough money.

Despite the fact that this company sent the E-mail that I had gotten approval and that Erica from Global Auto Mall called me and told me I had guaranteed approval for up to 30K, I get told at the dealership that I have to pay one thousand dollars down.

Considering I came two hours out of my way for nothing, I was not appreciative of the way I was treated at all. If I was told straight up that I would have needed a thousand, I would have said, "No thanks."

If I was told that my income had to be a consistent "1,500" a month and that it went by gross year to date instead of month to month, I would have said, "No thanks."

What is in print and E-mail should coincide with what is said, and this company (along with Global Auto) is a liar.

Don't lie to people and send E-mails guaranteeing approval or having representatives call folks cell phone and house phone saying "guaranteed approval". That is not fair to the millions of people that need transportation despite having pitfalls along the way.

Although I finally got someone HONEST who helped me obtain a vehicle, I cannot sit back and allow this company (along with Global Auto) to take advantage of even more people out there that are in need. It is simply the principle of the thing.

Most auto dealer crooks tell you whatever they have to in order to get you out to their lot. They don't care at all about wasting your time.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 29, 2005

Anything they tell you on the phone is a lie. All they want to do is get you onto their car lot. That way, they can pressure you into one of their scam deals.

And, once they get you interested in a car, they will force you to pay way too much for it. They will lie, use fake contracts, or falsify the numbers. Whatever it takes to cheat you.

There is only one way to win here.

Stay the hell out of car lots! Buy a good used car from a private party.

If you need a new car, call the manufacturer and tell them to offer vehicles direct to the public. Let them know that all the new car dealers are crooks. Tell the company that you won't buy from a dealer.

The only way to win with fraud is to avoid it in the first place!
