My problem begun when I decided to cancel my gym membership. The first thing I did was call to let gym know that I wanted to cancel my membership. When I spoke to michelle I told her I wanted to cancel my membership. She wanted to know why   I  told her didn't have time anymore she proceeded to try to change my mind then she inform me that I would have to come in to do so, she also stated that I needed to come in when Alberto was their. which I thought was total crap because when I sign up or purchase anything I did not need mangement to purchase it. Also in my contract it say nothing about camceling with a manger or the owner of the gym. All it's say is give them 30 day notice. 

 Now fast it's Saturday I stop by the gym which 1 hour away from my home. Alberto is there I ask to cancel my membership. He tell oh I can't to it today because it's re grand opening. And walks away. He come back two min later when he see I'm still standing thereI say again I need to cancel my contract. He then turn and tell me its the grand opening and he's not suppose to be here to come back during the week. After thar I left and will be going back on Monday. This clearly not ethical business practice. I sign a contract, I read the contract and I'm still getting the run around.

Cancellation Requests

It is our policy to always find out why a member wants to end their contract when a cancellation is requested. Only the general manager is authorized to process a cancellation, and he is typically only available to handle these requests during the week.

I always ask members who request a cancellation or freeze to call ahead of time to make sure the manager is here and able to handle their request at the time. The claim that he was turned away during our re-grand opening event is heresay. When this member came to cancel in person during normal business hours, his request was processed.
