I pass the Ulta store every week and planned on purchasing from them regularly out of convenience. They recently had a sale on Matrix items for $13.99 for the large bottles. On display in the front of the store they had various products on sale. I picked up one that I really needed and I decided to stroll the store and pick up a few more items. (Like I said, this was out of the convenience as their prices arent better than using my cosmetology license and driving somewhere else). Anyway, I get to the register and they dont have the correct price. They go to charge over $10 more. The young lady, obviously clueless said that she "solution" was not on sale but conditioners were. After 5 minutes of going back and forth, I explained that I am completely familiar with Matrix products and that I am a cosmetologist. I explained that detangling solution IS a conditioner and not a leave in.

After this 5 minute exchange, she goes to get her manager who basically took her sweet time getting to the register. At this point, completely irritated with their lack of service to Customers, I told the young lady to speak with her manager and I would be back within 30 minutes.

As promised, I came back to the store within 30 minutes and the manager basically said that the 10 or so of the same item that were on the display were placed up there by a Customer. First of all, Im far from stupid. I know darn well one of their employees made the mistake obviously because Customers don't place things back on the shelves in perfect alignment. Second of all, that point doesn't even matter because by law if its there, they have to honor the price. They didnt. As a result, Im not only putting up this ad, Im writing the better business bureau, a review on Yelp.com and Im going to write consumer reports and the president of the company.

At one point, I was actually going to be a Customer of theirs but considering the service I received, Ive decided to tell everyone I know not to support them. Its no wonder they dont make a lot of money.
