Ultimate Wholesale Company Beware of Their Advertisements on Craigslist and Other Internet Job Search Web Sites Bridgeton Missouri

Beware of advertisements/postings about a Customer Service Manager/Leader, etc. job from a company by the name of Ultimate Wholesale Company. This company never mentions its name in their job advertisements, but mention that they are located in Bridgeton/North County (in the Saint Louis, MO Metropolitan Area). This company has recently been posting advertisements on craigslist in the Saint Louis, MO area frequently. Also, this company's posting title masquerades itself with other ones such as, "Are you a motivator/leader?", making it harder to spot.

Because this company posts ads with many different titles/headlines in craigslist, the only thing that their ads have in common is the contact number listed inside the ad. Therefore, the thing to look for is their contact number: 314-209-0109 listed inside the advertisement. If you see this contact number, beware!

Also, they may also be posting similar ads in other job search web sites, such as monster or careerbuilder. Again, if you see this listed contact number, 314-209-0109, beware!

On 2/4/08, I went to the first interview (which was 15 minutes long) and interviewed with a gentleman by the name of Jeremiah Cruesoe. From the start, filling out the job application in the reception area, things looked suspicious from the start. During the entire time that I was there for the interview, I kept hearing constant yelling and chanting in the background. Perhaps the reason for this is that this is part of their motivation and training program to psyche up and to fire up new recruits to make a lot of sales and thus, money (very reminiscent of Amway/Quixtar or other types of MLM meetings but in this case, taken to the extreme). Besides this reason, I can not think of any other legitimate reason.

After filling out the application form and a brief wait, Jeremiah Cruesoe came out to greet me and to interview me in his office. Throughout the interview, they were very vague about what their business did, other than to mention that their business' name. Most importantly of all, they were very vague about compensation, just saying that it is all based on your performance but you can expect to make $35,000 your first year. Upon hearing this, it sounded to me like straight commission sales, door-to-door selling, or another MLM scheme except with unsubstantiated claims that one will make $35,000 in the first year. This sounded very deceptive to me and made me very suspicious about this business and this job.

After this brief 15 minute interview, Mr. Cruesoe asked me to call back later on that day to check on whether or not I have been selected for a 2nd interview. When I called later on that day, he told me that I have been selected for a 2nd interview and congratulated me. I scheduled a 2nd interview time with him and he then told me that this interview will be 1 1/2 hours long. He also told me, as if I was an idiot to 1. Show up at the scheduled time (Duh!), 2. Bring a notepad and a pen (to me, it is such common sense to go to any job interview ready to take notes that it goes without saying), and 3. A smile and a good attitude (Duh!).

Due to an illness, I had to reschedule our scheduled 2nd interview and was told to call back the next day to reschedule. I never called them back and thus did not reschedule my 2nd interview because of my suspicions about this company and the job that I was to interview for. Of course being told like an idiot about what to bring, how to act at the interview and to show up did not help either (after all, these things are all common sense).

My advice regarding this company's job advertisements is to know what you are getting into. If this type of work is what you are looking for (straight commission sales, door-to-door sales, MLM, etc.) and that you are adventurous, entrepreneurial, can afford to not work for money for a period of time, then it may represent a viable opportunity. If you are looking for a real, paying job, then do not waste your time responding to their ads, let alone, go to their interview.

From my personal experience, I hope that I can save someone in the Saint Louis Metropolitan Area from my experience and wasted time of interviewing for a job that looks suspicious and looks like a scam.
