Ultra Life Fitness, utah ripoff, fradulent billing South Jordan Utah

My friend from Wisconsin called to inquire about some pills from this company in June 2005. They would cost $4.95 and after talking to the representative she decided she WAS NOT interested. She verbally stated to cancel her out of any obligation, that she DID NOT want the pills and DID NOT want to be billed for ANYTHING. Soon she receives this bottle of pills in the mail and discoveres she has been charged the $4.95. She calls and they say they cannot refund her, but they would cancel her account. Soon thereafter, she gets a charge for$24 from the same company and calls them and they tell her she was automatically signed up for a gym membership with her initial purchase of the bottle of pills. And this is after she called them to cancel her account. She is now told that her account is canceled a second time, that there were email notifications about it (which she did not receive), and again that she cannot be refunded. There is not even a prorated charge for canceling this gym membership that she did not know she was joining-she has to pay for the full month.

Every company I have ever heard of -whether it is a gym or cell phone company-has a prorated charge for when people end membership. The point is she stated from the VERY FIRST CONVERSATION that she did not want anything. So after canceling a second time she stated to also cancel anything that may be affiliated to this accout. She still received another unwanted product and charged for it the following week! THIS CO. IS A SCAM AND THEY WILL PAY-THIS HAS TO BE ILLEGAL. I'm glad I checked out this website and saw all the other complaints already filed against the same company. I told her she better cancel her entire checking account and open a new one, cause other complaints on this website are stating that they keep getting charged month after month after cancelling multiple times. Please forward this and make others aware so that this company is stopped.
