They are charging me over 7000 dollars for a 10 hour stay in the emergency room, when in reality they only spent about 30 minutes to a hour tops on me. They kept sending people over saying that my health was more important than money. But if they were so concerned about my appendix bursting why did they make me wait for 5 hours? And then still have me just sitting there? If they don;t have equiptment and staff to do work in a timely manner than send me to a different hospital, and don't charge me thousands of dollars for 2 stupid exrays!!!!!! And then the radiologist sent me a bill on top of that! Of over $560.00. If someone can help me please contact me, other than clark county, they want to wipe out my savings before anything else. I have worked so hard for the money I have and just to give it to a doctor because I got a bad referral from Guadalupe Medical Center. I would never Go back there.

Hospitals don't charge by the hour

I work in collections for a large hospital corporation. Most people want to say they were charged 'huge amounts' when only there for 'xx amount of time'. Hospitals do not charge by the hour. They charge you based on services rendered.
If you were in the hospital for 10 hours because you stubbed your toe and the nail came off, it would have been considerably less. Yes, your health is more important than anything, but unfortunately it can come at a price.
I would suggest you contact the billing department to see if you may qualify for any financial assistant programs they have, see if you can negotiate a settlment for, say, 50-75% of the current balance if you pay it off.
