I received an offer for a 10,000 dollar credit card from this union workers credit services. The initial offer stated that for a 37.00 dollar fee you would receive a credit card with a 10,000 dollar credit limit with a fixed 5.0% APR. I paid the fee and received a paper credit card. There is an account number and everything. Looks just like a real credit card except it is paper!!

Not only that but with the paper card I received a catalog, which they now inform you that your 10,000 dollar credit card is only to be used for product in said catalog. No where in the initial offer was it stated that this was a membership rather that an actual credit card. I was led to believe this was an official credit card offer like any other you would receive from Chase, Capital One, etc...

Then when you try and call the number given for concerns on you membership, it is impossible to speak with a real person. Help me please!! I feel like an idiot for being led into this scam and would like real results so this does not happen to any one else. Thank you.

First off, let me say that I do not work for this company and am not affiliated with them in any way.

I have received these letters in the mail myself several times, so I understand some of the concerns everyone is expressing. Sean B. from Louisiana on the other hand, you need to read things a little closer before you get upset thinking you got ripped off.

The letters from Union Workers Credit Services clearly state that they have no bank affiliation, that Visa and Mastercard are unaffiliated with their offer, and the $10,000 credit line is only for merchandise from UWCS.

Most of your complaints were addressed in your initial letter. Each letter I have received from them had the same information in it, so it's not like this is something new.

Learn to read things over better before you make another bad choice.

Some people read what they WANT to read, and not what is actually put in print. It's fools like this that usually wind up getting scammed, as well.

Learn to read....the offer never says 'CREDIT CARD'

I am lost as to why people think gee for a $37.00 fee I get a $10,000 CREDIT CARD. No where in the offer does it say you will get a 'credit card'. It says, "pre-approved for a platinum CARD membership" It doesn't say credit card. In the first paragraph it says also "valid exclusively toward all credit purchases from credit provider". What is so hard to understand about that? Means you only get to use it with them.

But lets all really read the fine print. It says "Credit amount referenced herein shall NOT BE CONSTRUED TO FUNCTION AS ANY TYPE OF MULTI-PURPOSE CREDIT CARD and is EXCLUSIVELY applicable for credit purchases from UWCS".

Gee, now what does all the mean? Means its NOT A CREDIT CARD and means you can't use it for anything else but buying from UWCS.

Its really not very hard to figure out this is the same as FINGERHUT. Hello!!!
