Ok, so here's my story:

I applied it an advert on gumtree for a healthcare assistant job claiming no experience required as training would be provided. I get a call from Uniqcare a few weeks later and they said that if I went through their training course for CPR & Manual Handling, they would then get me interviews for healthcare assistant jobs. I paid a 50 deposit and turned up to their location.

Things went downhill straightaway. The email told me to arrive at 9am and go to Floor 3. When I got to the location, the guy at reception told me no one was there. Apparently the building rents out office spaces and so they made me wait until someone came. Another girl came a few minutes later for the same course except she got an email telling her to come in at 9:30am. At 9:45am, 2 more girls came and they said they were told to come for the same course at 10:00am! Eventually, a guy called Dean walks in and takes us to Floor 4 to talk us through everything. Needless to say, he barely knew what he was doing, where we were supposed to go etc. He was so disorganized and unprofessional, but what annoyed me was that he took 200 from me even though I have in the email that I was only supposed to pay 199.99. I let it slide because it was only a 1p difference, but when I told him about it, his response was "Oh ok, so do you want me to give you the pound back now then?". I'm sorry, but from his poor maths skills alone, I should've just run for it when I had the chance.

Anyway, we started the training at 11:00am which was the most useless time spent ever. I learnt more from the sheets of paper that the instructor gave me which outlined everything for us. They didn't even have the right equipment for the training e.g. adult dummy. When we finished, they wrote us a 'certificate' which hasn't been certified by anyone else (said we''d get those in the post within a week) and that we'd receive phone calls about interviews etc. Well, it's been nearly 4 weeks now, I haven't received any certificates or phone calls from them. Got through to them once about my certificates to which they just said they'd 'look into it' for me (bullshit!).

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! I don't even think they have any clients with jobs lined up, they just want you to pay for their expensive 'training' courses which you can learn far more from by buying a first aid guide online for under !0.  I've heard of a similar company called AGE Medical who do the same thing (they contacted me too, but I turned them down).
