This company UCB along with Client Services, Inc. has called my grandmother threatning to take her to jail and myself several times day and night due to an unpaid Citi Card credit card, which by the way we have had since 2001 and have always paid on time, due to a job lose I can no longer afford to pay it. I have not refused to pay, I simply told them I will pay as soon as am able. However these people want cash on hand now.

What a profit, they bought this from Citi Cards pennies on the dollar, something like .09 cents on the dollar and now want the full amount for profit of course. It is understandable they are in the business to make money, but the harrasement is Illegal.

These people are unbelievable, I am looking for a lawyer right now to see if he/she will take my case, I think they have misused their authority and along with that have violated the FDCPA fair debt collection pracvtice act.

As for me I have reported them to the Fair Trade Commission, who were very nice and willing to assist and made it clear that these two companies were using Illegal practice. How about the rest of you do the same, I think we can stop them, the Fair Trade Commissions already closed down one collection company for operating this way, why not this one also. Enough complaints will get them closed down.

i had the unfortunate experience in working for this company for 5 months i dont agree with the jobs 99% of the people do there because they have either forgotten what it was like to fall on hard times or never had the experience. i do have to say i know they do not buy the debts from the original creditor they are hired by them.. most of the people they have working for them have little to no experience in collections and go through a quick 3-4 weeks of training and once that is done they are calling who they are told.

if u dont want to talk to client services write a letter stating u dont want any calls and to only contact u by mail send it certified mail and make sure u keep a copy on hand for yourself. also i know most of the creditors this company deals with still charges intrest even if u have set up a repayment plan. i also personall have done this and contacted the origianl creditor and explain to them your experience with the collection company explain ur intentions and willingness to take care of this matter and how much u can afford to be but back on payments and do this for each and ever account that has fallen past due.

also check into the laws in ur state on collection agencies because they have to follow the fdcpa and ur state laws if they are in violation report them to the atty general in both ur state and theirs as well as the bbb and any other person u can mention

hope this helps

Pursuant to [your state] state law, continuation of this phone call after officially being informed that it is being recorded implies consent to be recorded.
