United Financial Credit ripoff credit card offer, $299 membership fee upfront

I received a call from a credit card company calling themselves "United Financial Credit." They right away, told me that I was approved for a $3,000.00 credit limit and all they needed was a $299.00 membership fee to send me my guaranteed mastercard with the $3,000.00 limit.

I thought it was too good to be real, but I did it anyways. They sounded so real. When one representative was done taking my bank info for the membership fee draft, he transferred me to another representative that recorded my statement to draft the account and that I accepted I would get my credit card w/in 15 days after they drafted my account.

They gave me a toll-free number to call: 1-866-898-8999. When I called, it was actually a cell phone number that forwarded me to a voice mail-box system. It took me going through all of that to realize that I just got ripped off.

I closed my bank account and opened a new one for security reasons. I will never make the same mistake again. I was starving for the credit because of financial difficulties and was vunerable to the fraud system.
