I purchased 2 United Motors motorcycles (dirt bikes) from a local dealer, Lee County Motorsports, Lehigh Acres, Florida.. They appeared to be a good deal and were touted as having a Honda Motor & transmission..
Well as the old saying goes: If it seems too good to be true then it probably isn't
These bikes are junk. It took the idiots at the dealership three days to deliver it, they couldn't figure out that there was water in the gas tank. When I got it home I drained the tank and it fired up. Then, the first day I it out I bent a fork on a 12" jump, a few minutes later I laid it down in some soft sand at 1 mph and bent the handle bars... oh boy. I ride it for a couple more hours and park it, next time out the thing will not start, not turn over, nothing. It turns out the ignition switch had vibrated loose and was no longer making contact, I had to bolt it back on..
My kid rides the 2006 dt150, The battery basket broke off when he laid it down in some soft sand at 1 mph OK,so sure, I am not supposed to do that, but the basket is tack welded to the frame! So, you cant replace it, the thing should never have snapped off.. it was poorly engineered and the metal is beyond cheap... , On the second day the brake cable brok and after a week it just will not start and run easily....
No, these are not my first bikes, I have been riding for nearly 30 years and have never seen such shoddy workmanship. I can not tell you how many times I dropped my RM125... Other than a bit of cosmetic damage it never broke, because it was made to ride off road... fast and hard...
Sure, I guess you can call anything that rides in the dirt a 'dirt bike', but these are NOT designed to be ridden as they appear. When I saw the price on these bikes I was skeptical, I looked them over and knew that they would not be as robust as their more expensive counterparts. BUT, that does not even come close to an accurate description.
Honda parts?... I SERIOUSLY doubt it. I compared the two side by side, they don't even look alike.
As for your dealer, his work shop is a garbage dump, litterally, it was discusting. I wouldn't let them sell trash cans for me..

but you bought cheap and got cheap. If you REALLY didn't want cheap, you would have bought from an already KNOWN reputable manufacturer.
Of course the dealer selling them is going to say they are great - he's selling them. Do you really think he would admit to you that they are garbage? Be real. As you found out, he won't.
Of course big names have sold garbage. But they are few and far between compared to the overall body of work. They don't sell all garbage products.

Hi John, thanks for taking the time to respond.
No, I did not WANT a cheap POS, I wanted something that I could ride occassionally without spending a fortune. I questioned the dealer and was assured that the bikes were just as good as their more expensive counterparts and the manufacturer was reputable. I do NOT buy names -- Are you telling me that dodge or chevy has never sold a POS?
As I stated earler, there were no bad reports about them anywhere; I checked.

But there's a reason

it is cheaper than the quality, higher priced brand name stuff. You gambled and lost. You didn't want quality or you would have bougfht from one of the big 4. Even if they honor their warranty, it will still be cheap crap.

I did a bit of research on the bikes and could not come up with ANY bad reports, I questioned the dealer with regard to parts availability and warranty work. My biggest mistake was believing him.
I may be able to dispute the sale with my credit card company.

They are cheap Chinese imitations, and Honda should sue their asses off. Some of them are now saying they use Suzuki engines, which is also false. I guess being in China insulates them from the courts. Many people are suckered into buying these POS machines, and just wait until you try to buy parts. If you do find a part on the internet, there's a good chance it will be named "Chinese Generic." and, "Fits Most" which means you'll pay for something that may or may not work. The electrics are particularly crappy. Their machines are made by over thirty different factories, none of which will even put a traceable name on their products, much less sell a parts manual. The American dealers aren't innocent either, they'll just stick a pretty decal on them and laugh at you. I'm surprised a veteran rider fell for the scam, you must have been reeling from sticker shock at the name-brand dealers, eh?
