I was hearing from my family members that my brother was about to be picked up by the Sheriff and put away for up to 15 years for fraud charges. When if finally received enough calls from United Process looking for my brother I was pissed off enough to call back to see what this was all about. When I spoke to BRIAN THOMAS he was very rude. He told me my brother was going away unless he spoke to him. As a caring sister I gave him the cell phone number and when I asked who he was and where he was calling from he hung up on me. When I called back I spoke with JASON JAMES who elaborated more on my brothers position. Mr. James said he was the one who signs the warrants and that he would drop the charges if he called him back to settle the debt. He also told me that a sheriff would be sent to pick him up and he would be arrested and incarcerated for up to 15 years on FRAUD charges. Being a paralegal I looked into this an found a lot of different people have filed complaints on JASON JAMES for violating the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICE ACT. If that wasn't enough violation, they are violating my brother's privacy. Now I'm his sister and they told me all the aforementioned information... now not only does my family know that he "owes a debt and can go to jail" but now my entire neighborhood knows from UNITED PROCESS calling them.

These people should be stopped. If they are not doing something criminally wrong they are definately doing something morally wrong.

I advised my brother to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Department and file a complaint. If the department receives enough they eventually have to do something about it.

I also advised him to notify the Buffalo PD so they are aware of what is going on and leave a paper trail encase the UNITED PROCESS company is being investigated.

I strongly encourage everyone who is being harrassed by this company along with JASON JAMES and BRIAN THOMAS to do the same. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING TO THESE PEOPLE. A real collection agency should have the your address on file. Request a copy of the invoice from the company that you owe. Then handle your debt directly with them. Do not give UNITED PROCESS your address. They should have it. Also, you are entitled to know the company that is charges you for the debt and it should be in writing.

I would add a link to their website at the end of this page. But if you were them would you publicize your shady practice? Yea I think I would hide it also.
