i was shopping in a mall in omaha nebraska with my newborn when i was approached by a man talking about pictures he said it was a great deal would not take no for an answer even tried pushing the stroller toward his table i finally agreed and set up a time and paid him 10.00. A week later took my family to get the pics taken and it was in the back room of a store very unproffessional we felt rushed and the girl acted like she didn't know what she was doing.we also had to pay another 6.00. I set an appt. to pick up the pics and when i got there no one was there and i waited for a while than called the number the lady verified she would call back. 30 min. later i called back and she said someone would contact me for another appt. I think she was full of it. I am very upset and still ahve not heard back from them or gotten my pictures.

United Studios photography+semi ripoff

AUTHOR: Sheila trent - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 14, 2010

I read several other posts from other consumers who were ripped off to one extent or another by United Studios.  My husband and I experienced the exact same things at our local Albertson's grocery store in CA.  United Studios WAY overbrushed the pics, esp. my husband, who doesn't look like himself at ALL in the photos.  BUT, since a few were good of me (I am NOT photogenic, so this was a real surprise, probably because they airbrushed me to death too), and because we'd been married almost 3 years with no wedding pics, we bought the full set (two weeks after our sitting, $10 then $6 sitting fee in Albertson's break room, crowded with others even though we were on time).  Two weeks we went back to see the photos (had to wait again 20 mins or so) and a very nice man from Phoenix showed us the first batch.  We bought them for $195, but on the condition that we buy a photo album and a huge blown up picture of us covered with acrylic or something, plus other smaller photos, for ANOTHER $195, sight unseen.

I have left messages with them.  Only once did a woman answer one of my calls about the remaining half which we've already paid for, and said she'd relay the message to someone who would know more than she did.  I had waited until last Monday because you can't call them on weekends.  She said I'd made the mistake of calling on a Monday morning, because that's when their call load is highest and to leave a message.  So I did.   I waited all day and no one called.  I just tried again and left them a message.  Same thing -- you get an answering machine asking you to leave your name, number and message and they'll call you right back.

I think we're out $195 dollars, not to mention we haven't even wanted to frame the pics they DID send us home with (which we paid $195 for)...we're basically out almost $400 dollars.  I work odd hours and can't be on my cell phone at work to call these people constantly hoping to get a real person, and they don't seem to even have a website.

I would never do this again.  My husband is going to talk to the Albertson's store customer service dept. today and see if somehow we can't get our $$$ back for pics that have never arrived in the mail as promised.
