Universal Exploration Inc. Vacation Scam-Florida & Cancun Nashville Tennessee

Entered some contest online. Got a call a few days later telling me I "won" a trip for 6 days in Florida & 5 Days in Cancun. Was told how wonderful and great it was. How when we got there the only cost was if we got room service, or made long distance calls. There would be shuttles etc. They requested 249 USD each for my husband and I. Thinking how awesome!! 11 day vacation 498 USD, cool.

I did make in error in NOT asking about airfare but when you "win" a trip I expected it. But we were NOT told it was not included. We were also not told it was non-refundable.

Now the fun part. I receive the package in my email. One of the first lines: This is not a contest lottery or anything you have won, this is a promotion. Further down,
your vacation voucher is for hotel accommodations ONLY. You will also have to pay a tax for every night in the hotel.This is non-refundable. They state at the time of travel, we can help you get discounted airfare, and car rentals etc.

Never was one word of this spoken on the phone. The lady pretended she was in Florida! They made insinuations that they had credit card info of ours. That should have stopped me. This was blatant misrepresentation. All of the truths were not told to us. Only how great it was. I take some blame for being an idiot, but I see how it works! You won something for the first time in your life! etc. Also they are targeting Canadians big time. I think they think, we are stupid.

When we called them they insisted they told us this. I'm not deaf and neither is my husband. They said they recorded it. I said send me a copy, they got mad. I filed a dispute with credit card company against them.
