UNLD Law Firm in California Identified themselves as Fraud Officers for the Federal Government and wanted me to verify the last four digits of a social security number. California

On 11-11-10 I received an unnerving phone call from 315-551-5643.  The caller was a foreign gentleman who, after being asked several times, finally identified himself as Officer Jack Thompson from the UNLD Law Firm in California, and said he is working for the federal government. He wanted some personal information, but when I asked if I could have a phone number where I could call him back to verify that he is who he says he is, he became agitated. 

He kept asking me to verify who I was, which I never did.  But, I was able to get his name (probably phony) and the name of the firm he purported to be calling from, which he identifies.  He went on again to say that he worked for the UNLD law firm, which stood for the United Nations Legal Dept., in Los Angeles, Calif., and that there was a 'legal' fraud case with a finance company he was investigating and that he was calling so that he could help me.  I told him I was not giving him any information until he would allow me to identify him by letting me call him back and he then became verbally abusive and began cussing at me,saying he was going to kick my a*s.   I hung up and he called back and said he was going to F ... me tonight.  I hung up and called the police. They were very interested and took down the information.

If these people call you don't give them any information.  Hang up and call your local police department.
