Took my 1994 Jeep to get repaired for overheating and had to bring it back for the same problem again, only to find out that the engine block was cracked. The mechanic (owner) forgot to change an $8 part (thermostat) which is vital to all cooling systems. Learned the hard way, which cost me over $2100 and left with a warranty which is only good to line the bird cage with. Please avoid this place for repair my friends.

misdiagnosis?

AUTHOR: Jamey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 21, 2008

sounds like a case of misdiagnosis, did you say it was over heating when you brought it in? Sounds like he may have just missed the cracked block the first time. An engine has to get really hot or really cold to crack a block and it is not the mechanics job to ride with you and hold your hand and tell you it is bad to run your engine with the temp gauge pegged or the hot lamp on. like the old saying goes . I didnt build it , I didnt buy it and I sure as heck didn't break it.
