My wife signed us up for a free box of Tide on the internet.  We got a call to send someone over but they wanted both of us to be home.  I asked if they wre trying to sell something and the woman on the phone  told me no. 

A salesman shows up at my door to test my water.  Very nice young man convinces us to purchase an AQUA Maid water conditioner at a ridiculous price of 6,000.  He told me I was approved for 2% financing and 6months no payments then 60 payments at 120.00.  Two days later a finance lady came over and confirmed everything the young man had told me.

7 months later, I received my first bill and it was 120.00.  The third bill came in and it was 138.00 so I looked closely at my bill realizing I had been SCREWED.  The interest rate was a variable rate at around 23% and about 10.00 a month was all that was going towards the principal.  BBB was no help at all.  I filed a complaint and got a couple of very inconsiderate responses basically telling me that it's between me and the finance company (GE) and their hands were clean of it.

Even though the Finance girl hand wrote it on the contract, the fine print which I neglected to read told the true story.

On a lighter note, the guys who set up the system did not jet the drain down far enough so all the corrosive salt water soaked my side yard for a couple of weeks before I realized it.  This killed a large area of sod and my Orange tree.  Which they felt was not their fault and no recourse on them again...I got my 6,000.00 box of Tide
