 A couple weeks ago I had a young woman call me on my cell phone from the "U.S. Grants Department" she said I qualified for a Grant of 8400 USD and at that time I found it suspicious so I said this sounds like a scam so I hung up. In the past two days July 10th and July 11th of 2013 I have had a gentlemen by the name of Steven Carlton call me. He told me he was from the  "U.S. Grants Department" and that I qualify for an 8400 USD grant. I gave him my name, address, and routing and checking account #. He said he would call me back with a Grant Approval ID# which he did a few minutes ago of KC135, he then instructed me to contact his Officer Account Manager Gerald or Joel Porter I really didn't understand him so I wrote down two names I thought I heard him say. The number he told to call is 202-558-4554. Steven called me from 202-660-1040 a Washington D.C number. Not sure if this is legit, I called my bank and told them what happened they have now put an alert on my account.  I told Steven today that I rather put it on my credit card instead and gave him the number to my mastercard. This sounds like a big scam and what I have been reading tells me that I should not proceed any further. Most likely I am going to have to change my account number on both my bank account and credit card. I am hoping someone can find this guy and make him pay for wasting people's time.
